So frustrating that we are left with little choice to sign up for Sky Sports these days if we want to watch most decent sports events. Terrestrial channels are left trying to persuade viewers that women’s and disabled sports are remotely interesting!

Come on, we all love our vegetables.
arksided, I hope that comment was accidental and not a reference to disabled athletes.
Certainly hope so.

It must be difficult if you have a favourite subject you love to watch - I am fortunate to enjoy a wide variety of programmes.
just wimin playing football , have you seen them.
nope I don't watch football
I didn't mean no offence, sorry if I did.
I have heard the term "vegetables" used for severly disabled people.....but I think you didn't intend that meaning :)
It was never meant as a darkside...I know many disabled folk and I can't help them... i didn't mean to upsset...sorry if I had.. I do love vegetables though.
There is nothing on Sky Sports for me - although having signed up for HD channels years ago for £10 gives me the Grand Prixs in full.
As I've said on here before, any decent Sunday League team would wipe the floor with the England ladies team, as well as cricket and rugby. I wish broadcasters would stop the ridiculous practice of trying to convince everyone that womens' sport amounts to anything. It's just cute, innit?
`10cs, Balderdash.I'd like to see how you would fare batting against one of the bowlers of the ladies Test Team.
Or going a few rounds against Nicola Adams.
They are so cute! They wouldn't stand a chance. And you know it. Womens' sport is pathetic. In one England Ladies football qualifier, they were losing 1-0 with 2 mins to go and won a free kick 5 yards in the opposition half, near the touch line. The commentator said this was a chance to put the ball in the penalty area and perhaps get the equaliser. The girl kicked the ball towards the box and it bounced three times before it got there. Nothing will change my mind about womens' sport. It's not worth making the tiniest effort to watch any of it.
test cricket's returning to the BBC in a couple of years. Sky have shown it since 2006, in which time audiences have plummeted and typical kids are unaware of its existence. That was a suicidal deal for the cricket board, made them money but lost them their following.

Despite the success of the England team this summer, test cricket is on the wane. People are more interested in the slogging game now. As predicted many years ago by Brian Close.
10cs, Have you not heard of Dame Laura Davies.
"Or going a few rounds with Nicola Adams."

Or even Karen Bardsley, for that matter :-)
To be fair, there’s a high degree of talent in the (female) England cricket team.

I do however recall a couple of years back watching a female football match, England v Holland. I reasoned that as it was the Dutch turning up we’d be in for a treat, with no little skill on show.
Sadly, in the entire 90 minutes neither side recorded a single shot on goal, it was dire.
Unfortunately, they didn’t even swap shirts at the end!

Already getting me coat....
