After her ‘performance ‘ tonight how should history recall Serena Williams
I for one , although admiring her tennis skills and power am fed up and embarrassed by her tantrums and sulks - and then trying to justify her actions by saying it’s all about her gender !
I have always thought she was not a genuine person , I much prefer her sister Venus , perhaps less skilled but seemingly gracious even in defeat

She didn't exactly cover herself in glory did she. disgraceful behaviour.
While I acknowledge she is a great player I have never warmed towards her and her behaviour was bad in this last match. Shouting at the referee like that was out of order . Wonder if she will get fined for this ?
She behaved like a spoilt child. It was embarrassing to watch.
And yet when a male player in the 70/80s behaved the same he is remembered with fondness.
Not by me he's not!
OK
Diva with ego... never liked her..
Nor me.
Serena got a massive fine -and was put on some form of probation - when she had a similar meltdown in the US Open semi-final a few years ago. She's not what I'd call a good example, to anyone!
Time to go !
I agree. Too big for her boots.
Time to go?
Are you for real?
Boris Becker, John M, Bjorn Borg even the sainted Andy Murray has had melt downs and there has never been a call for them to go.
I think it is pretty obvious what the issue is here.
If she can't deal with criticism and acts so unprofessional ...then go...the issue is she thinks she's above the pack and her attitude on and off the court stinks
Exactly.
She was very gracious to her opponent after the match. I didn't like her behaviour during the match, but I've seen much worse from other players - mostly men it has to be said - and they weren't penalised.
You are right clovers as I pointed out earlier the men do worse and get looked upon with fondness or its said he’s just passionate about the game. A woman does it and it’s time for her to go!!
Where has anyone heaped praise on a male player on this thread? You need to stop your crazy ranting, RR.

I don't remember the male players of yesteryear as, being young in the 80s, I wasn't remotely interested in Tennis - and I'm still not now. However I saw footage of Williams' indignant shrieking at the Official on the news and I thought her behaviour was bad. There's no double standards or racism going on. Please go and take a lie down!

No one mentioned racism. Williams did mention sexism though, during one of her rants.
But why bring that into this thread?

This thread is about Serena Williams. RR is just attacking the same posters. This is a pattern of behaviour that many have witnessed.
