Morning all. A beautiful day up here, so an early start so that I can get into the garden. Missed your midweek post Ken, as I have not bothered all week. I do note though that Mick Channon seems to be flying and Gosden, although he had one in yesterday, not firing earlier in the week. Scottish National day so the jumps are nigh on over for another season. Hope to at least repeat last week's effort, so here goes.

Braqueur D'Or @10/1 2.20 Ayr
Tajaanus @ 4/1 2.35 Newmarket
Verdana Blue @9/2 2.55 Ayr
Taqdeer @9/1 3.45 Newbury

£1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 30p Trebles. 6 X 30p Doubles

£1.00 E/W Glencairn View @14/1 4.05 Ayr Scottish National.

Depending how I start I have an option to cover my selections if I've a mind to. Good luck all.

Afternoon, Togo, and good luck with your selections. Must admit, you had me frantically rustling through the racing pages looking for the Newmarket meeting, 'til i realised that it was a mistake on your part. Wish i hadn't bothered through the week, to be honest, but swings and roundabouts, Togo, swings and roundabouts. Hopefully today is a 'going' day and, because i am sometimes left kicking myself for not following horses who are seemingly on a roll, i have included 2 such animals today.

1.45 Ayr; Theinval @ 5/1 (ran yesterday but stands his racing well)
2.20 Ayr; Dingo Dollar @ 7/1
2.55 Ayr; Beyond The Clouds @ 15/2
3.45 N'b; Humbert @ 12/1

No win singles (not confident enough and have earmarked a large part of my betting bank for the football), 20p lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £71, 4 winners = £7,051.

Have had a couple of stats 'sweeps' through the Scottish National line up with a fine tooth comb and my first selection is, Beware The Bear e.w. @ 25/1. Given what is currently happening between Russia and the rest of the world, it would be a very apt winner. Will probably choose another couple - one more with the stats and one against the grain.

Good luck to anyone punting today :-)

Haha. Sorry about that Ken, the 2.35 is of course @ Newbury.
May be a 13 year old, but Benbens has been 3rd in the National twice, including last year after pulling up in his previous race at Uttoxeter - which is exactly what he did lto. Certainly don't expect him to win but we know he stays the trip and, @ 50/1, i think he's worth a small e.w. punt. Also having similar on Brian Hughes' ride, Indy Five @ 33/1.

Once again, good luck all.
I do a 'name' bet each weekend, immediate family members and, as i have both a son and a grandson called Daniel, i have started off with Daniel's Dream in a lucky 15. Also had £2 on it and am now waiting for William Henry, It Must Be Faith and Loujain. Chancing my luck, i then did a rev f/c in the 2.45 at Bangor with the 2 jt favs, only to see Get Rhythm fall at the first. Swings and roundabouts:-/

I need a kick up the jacksie Ken....after mentioning that Channon is on fire, I ignore Dan's Dream which wins at 10/1 and my old favourite Kimberella up at Thirsk.....which duly wins. Doh.
I had Kimbrella in my Hanagan/Fahey bet, Togo - nothing with it, though. Pity that Beyond The Clouds ran so far below expectations; a place would have done me:-( And your Taqdeer just touched off my Humbert!! That's the 3rd time, now, Togo. My turn soon, surely :-)

Lol Ken. Sorry bud. Got me out clean mind. A cheeky single after a poor start. I came in to look at results so far and thought......don't be shy Togo, this is their money. Fancy 2-1 tomorrow for Stoke, so will have a look at that when the time comes. Been a scorcher here and we have been to get stuff on site and get the garden sorted(including cleaning the patio). Deep joy ........not. Settling down to a glass of vino and a sphag bol. Hope you are in good health and spirit regardless of the vagaries of our shared pastime.
Much prefer 2-1 to the Clarets @ 14/1, Togo. I know i've hit it 4 times recently, but i can be a greedy bar steward sometimes:-)
