Hi Everyone,
When a perm exacta is wagered and one is a non runner what happens to the bet. For example pick 3 horses to finish 1st and 2nd in any order is 12 bets. But if one doesn't run it is only 2 bets.
What happens to the extra stake money.
Thanks
Steve

Non runners your stake is returned. Only placepots your non runner becomes the favourite. http://www.safebookmakerssites.com/totebetsexplained.htm

My bookie friendly mate says it probably goes on a favourite.

I think your bookmaker is turning you over anyway. Three horses to finish first and second in any order can only consist of only six bets, not twelve:

A First, B Second.
A First, C Second.
B First, A Second.
B First, C Second.
C First, A Second.
C First, B Second.

That's all the combinations I can think of. Where do the other six come from?

As NJ says 6 reverse exacta, one non-runner, four bets refunded and two valid.

Sorry New Judge I meant 6 bets. As far as bookies go I think he is fairly honest.
