I notice that the forthcoming Ashes series has Cardiff as the venue of the 1st Test. I did not realise that Cardiff had a Test ground. Has anyone any information on this please

Many thanks jno. I missed that when it was announced
I think Old Trafford has lost the opportunity to host the Ashes Test this time. I dont know why it seems an excellent venue.
Glamorgan seized the opportunity to improve their dreadful ground by building a new one with the profligate assistance of the Welsh Assembly (i.e. the English taxpayer).

The facilities are good (Ive seen them) but quite why Wales warrants hosting a test match (with just one Division Two club out of the eighteen County sides) is beyond me.

And OT is indeed being modernised over the next couple of years. I was there last summer for the Roses 20/20 game & it is awful! (Mind you my home ground is Trent Bridge so standards are pretty high!)
