Never heard of her but I wish her well in retirement.

She's a top jockey, retiring at 35 which seems extremely early but she's had injuries. I wish her good health and happiness.

Rachel Blackmore won both the Grand National and the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The first woman jockey to do either and a feat accomplished by very few male riders. Proving, once and for all, that as far as horse riding is concerned, women are the equal of men.

True, she rode for a top stable, but you don't get to do that unless you are something special. And Rachel Blackmore is special.

To retire is a sad, but sensible, decision by Rachel. She has understandably struggled since her last injury, though she did win on her last ride. Perhaps that's what she was waiting for; to go out on a high?

I wish her nothing but success on whatever road she next travels.

any relation to Ritchie?

Who is he?

Founding member of (and lead guitarist with) Deep Purple.Wnt on to form his own band, Rainbow.

Don't think either band would be your cup of tea, NJ. 😉

When I saw the title, I thought something tragic so am very relieved she's retiring. I hope she has a prosperous, long, happy retirement.

She is so much more than a talking head for TV punditry
