Me and Mr.Myfanwy doing a few bets at York today. All the races at the halfway mark, half the jockeys drop their reins.A wee bit of a joke to be truthful.Okay for them, they are still getting paid.Doesnt do much for older punters such as us who want to see a decent, fair race in progress and getting some kind of a swindle going on.Rant over.

Best thing for them in this weathsd.

Weather.
Had a quick look Spice....done the ITV7 because it is free and a little low stakes punt. Got to go out but may get back to watch later. Looks like the rain will not get to York until late afternoon so should be OK. May affect the going tomorrow mind. Good Luck

Picked a 25/1 2nd, Soldier's Minute, 20/1 2nd, Golden Spear* in Ireland and Pyledriver 10/1 winner in the early races. Then had a rare visitor 10 minutes before the first race so turned everything off.
Just as well, I think. Fancied loads more later and they all came nowhere.
*Golden Spear is down to run in a jump race at Killarney today.
Could be a Haggas benefit today?
Let's hope It Must Be Love today and not You Can't Hurry Love.
Good luck all.
// Then had a rare visitor 10 minutes before the first race so turned everything off.//

I hate it when the vicar calls without an appointment as well. :))
Must do better. The ITV7 becomes an ITV5 with Windsor off so small punt and an e/w bet. I note that Koukash has 7 runners at Chester later so may have a look there. I also note that his runner in the last race, Arabist, was bought from the Gosden stable this year at a price that is above what the good Doctor likes to pay. Hmmmm. Methinks they have high hopes for it. Did you read about the punter who did a 50p E/W 5 timer across the cards on Saturday night? He chose all no 10s and all 5 won, paid him £150k+, all double digit prices. Bet he was sweating on the last one. I should be so lucky.

Setarhe @16/1 1.45Y
Fools Rush In @20/1 2.15Y
Prompting @7/1 2.45Y
Vivionn @8/1 3.45Y

50p E/W Acca. 35p E/W Doubles and Trebles.
Love in the 3.15 for the ITV5. Good Luck.
While I do like to see folk taking lots of dollar off the nasties, punters like this one make me sick. There's me putting in the hard graft, sifting through reams of stats and data and other technical stuff and lucky to get a winner or two. He picks five number 10s and scoops the jackpot. Lucky **!!%**! :-)

1.45; Shantosha @ 7/1 (Rev f/c with Umm Kulthum)
2.15; Happy Romance @ 9/2
2.45; What's The Story @ 20/1 (18/1 e.w. 5 places with Sky)
4.50; Odyssey Girl @ 8/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca.4 placed = £71, 4 winners = £10, 960.

ITV 5; The first 3 above named plus Love and Award Scheme. £1 e.w. fourfold (minus Love).

Placepot; 8-8-3-5-8-5

Good luck, all.

There was a bloke on WH radio yesterday won £12,000 or something on a Yankee
He said 'The missus has already spent it. She wants a new car and a holiday'.
What kind of a £&+*#@ idiot would tell his wife the truth about what he won?
Never ever told my ex exactly how much i'd won - unless it was a placepot (the dividends are published in the press). If I won a ton, i'd tell her i'd won £50 and give her £30. She was happy to get more than 50% of my winnings - or so she thought. The other £50 would go toward my 'Racing Trip' stash. Happy days :-)
All that studying and the horse decides to fall out of the stalls and the Fahey horse (rev f/c) gets a place :-(((
The win single on Happy Romance gave me a bit of a conundrum as it qualified me for a free £5 bet on the next televised race, i.e. the 2.45. Already done What's The Story so ended up e.w. on Dalgliesh's other runner Red Bond @ 100/1. You have to be in it to win it :-)
If you're driving along the prom in Blackpool, look out for Red Bond. You'll recognise it as it will be the only donkey going backwards :-(
Done Powerallied (8s), Gabrial The Wire (5s) and Gabrial The Saint (5s) in a R Robin and e.w. treble. Penwortham needs to show a bit more sparkle before I put any of my ill gotten on it and Arabist's profile doesn't really suggest it's a 2 miler. Probably stay longer than the mother in law, now I've said that :-)
Just a bit of e/w on Penwortham and Arabist to wind it up. Try again tomorrow regardless. Buttons back for a place double at York today.
Don't know whether you have noticed Ken.....but the Sky Fantasy Football site is up and running again. Post a punt in a little while.
Keeping my ammo dry until I see what transfers unfold, Togo, though I've already placed my first ante-post football acca :-)
Got £67 for 2 numbers on the Spanish lottery, last night, with Betfred, so today's bets are sort of 'free'. :-)

1.45; Restorer @ 13/2 (Rev f/c with Entanglement)
2.45; Yazaman @ 4/1
4.15; Waliyak @ 10/3
4.50; Hartswood @ 15/2

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £20, 4 winners = £1,917.

Can't see Battash being beaten - only by heavy rain, maybe - but I do believe Moss Gill can place so I've had a £1 e.w. on @ 33/1.

York PP; 7-7-10-1-10-5 Sal PP; 4-7-6-6-3-3

ITV7; The 2 qualifiers above, plus Burristo, Enbihaar, Zezenia, Battash and Tawleed. £1 e.w. acca.

Best of luck, all :-)
