As a spectacle, i suppose Royal Ascot is up there with the best but, imho, it's not a patch on Cheltenham for action and excitement and i always think there is a lot more hype about this festival, too. That said, it does give us an opportunity to see some beautiful animals in their prime and some at the onset of what could be brilliant careers but, as far as picking winners is concerned, it's a minefield - well, for me it is :-/
So, in hope rather than any confidence, these selections are what my studies have led me to choose.

2.30; Mustashry @ 9/2 (Rev f/c with Laurens)
3.05; Guildsman @ 7/1
3.40; Mab'sCross @ 8/1
5.35; Addeybb @ 7/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £24, 4 winners = £3,918.

ITV7; Mustashry, Final Frontier, Guildsman, Mab's Cross, Phoenix of Spain, Coeur De Lion & Addeybb.

Also have a gut feeling that the bookies have somewhat overlooked Mixboy (5.00) by pricing it up so high. As Skybet are paying on 6 places (1/5 odds) i've had £1.50 e.w. @ 25/1.

Best of luck, all.

// I'm obviously much, much younger than you.//

Geercha…..(^_*)
Reading your tales of the good old days of racing takes me back 20 years ago when I was 30 and we use to go to Newmarket, we’d get in for nothing using our ‘Racing Post ID’ cards, how we got away with it I’ll never know!
Then we’d all head back to a nearby village pub where a friend lived and the pub was full of racing faces, trainers, jockeys and owners and they’d all happily chat to you about racing.
Now when you go racing most of the younger generation just want to throw as many pints and shots down their necks, hoover loads of coke up their nose and fight each other.
Everyone wore clothes that fitted them and the women were all real!

Aah the memories :-)
Last day today, time to get some money back!
2.30 Year Of The Tiger
3.05 So Perfect
3.40 Masar
4.20 Dream Of Dreams
5.00 Bacchus
5.35 Pallasator

Good luck!
Morning all. Beautiful day here. I have just had to spend an hour or so watering the tubs and veg. before it gets too hot. Looks like a scorcher next week. About time. I think, Panky, that a lot of the innocence to be had, and enjoyed at most sporting or social events has somehow been buried under an avalanche of self indulgence and a desire to be "seen" as cool or innovative. Shame really. Still, back to the important business of making a bit of dosh and enjoying it at the same time. The bookies let me do a little 5 timer on Frankie today...…..just in case you know. But I was disappointed to note that his ride in the Hardwicke has been hooked. It was my initial pick. Done the ITV7 Putting Ascended in at Newmarket with the following 6. The * horses are my punt, but again cover is an option with singles on the bigger priced ones or even add them into a bet later if it goes pear shaped early doors. Was also going to do Recon Mission in the 5.00 after last weeks blistering display again a n/r. Good luck all.

Pinatuba* @11/4 2.30

****£1.00 E/W Acca. 30p Win Trebles & Doubles. 50p e/w 7 timer on the ITV7.

I do hope you have a good day, Togo, 'cos you have 3 of mine in there and i've done The Tin Man in a forecast:-) Best of luck with yours, too, Panky.

3.05; Happy Power @ 17/2
3.40; Mirage Dancer @ 6/1 (Stout 'farmed' this race in recent times)
4.20; Invincible Army @ 8/1 (Rev f/c with The Tin Man)
5.35; Corelli @ 5/1 (would be apt to see FD bring the curtain down)

Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £26, 4 winners = £4,058

£3 win Pinatubo @ 7/2
£2.50 e.w. way Soldiers Minute @ 28/1 (5 places)

ITV 7; above 6 plus Mulan.£1 e.w. acca. 7 placed = £127, 7 winners = The Bank :-)
Good start Ken. :))

Well, that's it for another year - top hats and tails back in the wardrobe, hats back in boxes waiting for wedding invites and all those boring celebs back to the obscurity of their own little Twitter accounts.
Nothing after that first winner but, overall, it's not been my worst RA by a long chalk - i usually struggle to get one on the board :-/
Did have some compensation up at Ayr where i did 3 of Hanagan's rides in a R Robin - as you know i do from time to time. His first ran an excellent race but just got touched off for a place. Next 2 won so i've a nice little 84/1 double. Trouble is, he also booted the winner home in the last but i backed against that one. Just gone to kick myself............................and missed. Just off for a Cuppacoco (5.55 Red) :-)
Ah well etc. No fairy tale end then. I think I'm glad it is over, been revved up all week. Haha. Can't complain, well ahead after a storming Wednesday, but happy to take a chill for a few days now. Hope Panky had a bit of each way back there, two very nice places and both had chances to win. See you next year Ascot, God willing.
