As a spectacle, i suppose Royal Ascot is up there with the best but, imho, it's not a patch on Cheltenham for action and excitement and i always think there is a lot more hype about this festival, too. That said, it does give us an opportunity to see some beautiful animals in their prime and some at the onset of what could be brilliant careers but, as far as picking winners is concerned, it's a minefield - well, for me it is :-/
So, in hope rather than any confidence, these selections are what my studies have led me to choose.

2.30; Mustashry @ 9/2 (Rev f/c with Laurens)
3.05; Guildsman @ 7/1
3.40; Mab'sCross @ 8/1
5.35; Addeybb @ 7/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £24, 4 winners = £3,918.

ITV7; Mustashry, Final Frontier, Guildsman, Mab's Cross, Phoenix of Spain, Coeur De Lion & Addeybb.

Also have a gut feeling that the bookies have somewhat overlooked Mixboy (5.00) by pricing it up so high. As Skybet are paying on 6 places (1/5 odds) i've had £1.50 e.w. @ 25/1.

Best of luck, all.

Why the long face - neigh, what an awful yoke. You'll have to do a bit better than that, Togo, or jusy reign yourself in.
Just had 3/4 in a L15 - Brogans Bay 13/2, Between The Waters 4/1 and Follow The Bear 15/2. £136 back. Just a pity a fav let me down for the full house and £1,915 return. Jane Lamb was far too sheepish when push came to shove, finishing near last than first.

Approached today's meeting with the bravado gained by my little win last night - bit like dutch courage. Don't think Frankie will repeat his performance of yesterday, given his rides, but i hope he adds at least one to his tally - mine!

2.30; Silent Witness @ 14/1
3.05; Private Secretary @ 5/1
5.00; Hotsy Totsy @ 7/1
5.35; Fujaira Prince @ 6/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £40, 4 winners = £5,602.
£3 win Khaadem @ 15/2 3.40
ITV 7; All above plus Hermosa and Robero. £1 e.w. acca. All placed = £195, all win = comfortably off for the rest of my life :-)
Also done the placepot and a L15/e.w. acca in the last 4 at Redcar which could reward me with £1,341 = comfortably off for the rest of the month :-)

Good luck guys.
Morning Ken bit late again.....went down to the Promenade for a stroll and clear my mind after yesterday's excitement lovely morning. We all know that lightning can strike twice, so besides my bet below I just tried to do a sneaky 5 timer bet on Dettori's rides. No way. Message reads..."5 folds and above cannot be placed on these selections at this time". The bookies are running scared.

Precious Moments* @14/1 2.30
Japan 3.05
Jash* @9/2 3.40
Castle Lady 4.20
Whimbrel* @20/1 5.00
Ben Vrackle* @9/1 5.35

****£1.00 E/W Acca. 25p E/W Doubles and Trebles. The above with Imperial State 3.20 Redcar for the ITV7 and little 7 horse acca.
The site won't let me do 4 timers or trebles on Frankie either.
Well done chaps and great prediction Togo, was haunting me after each race!
Bookies were quaking after the first 4 winners hence their ridiculous pricing of Frankies last two rides.
Long and tiring day yesterday and will enjoy it more today from the comfort of my sofa!
My picks today are...
2.30 Galadriel
3.05 Pondus
3.40 Khaadem
4.20 Jubiloso
5.00 Magnetic Charm
5.35 Secret Advisor

Good luck chaps and hope this racing lark catches on or they’ll end up scrapping Cheltenham, Aintree and Royal Ascot next year if it’s just 3 people discussing it on here!
Glad you're home safe and well Panky. That is why I don't go much these days. Always finished up goosed when I did go. Just about manage Chester these days, short journey and small grounds. I think that more people have a look in than care to let on Panky. We are happy to reveal that we have a little punt. Some have a little flutter and keep stum. 365 have let me do the trebles on Frankie but will not take 4 or 5 timer. Just a chuck away bet just in case.

"Bookies running scared". 'Twas ever thus, Panky. I remember the day Frankie went through the card at Ascot. My aunt, who liked a little e.w. bet every day, cleaned at the bookies and would place her bet just before she left.On the day, she put her £1 e.w. on Fujiyama Crest which, at the time, was about 16/1. No guaranteed odds then, of course so she ended up with a £1 e.w. bet on a 2/1 winner. She was absolutely gutted and, no matter how much i tried to explain the bookmaker's liabilities to her, she was adamant she had been "diddled" :-/

Well done Hayley though there may be a visit to the Tower!!

Just checked the Redcar results and have a 4th, 3rd and a 2nd. Waiting for Sound Of Iona to place for £34 - not a fortune but will pay for a few bets.
Question Author
No i'm not - don't get paid on 4th in a claimer :-( :-( :-(
Situation normal here Ken. What a brave effort, though, from the Queen's horse. Carried a stone and a half more than the winner. When I picked a runner in that race I decided it would have to be one of the bottom weights and chose mine because it was Gosden's. Dohh. 365 Were not the only site refusing to lay 4 & 5 folds on Frankie's rides.
Question Author
When you say they wouldn't let you do a 4fold, not even in a lucky 15, Togo?
Didn't try that Ken. I put up the 5 runners and they wouldn't let me do trebles, 4 or 5 timers. When the prices had dropped they let me do the trebles. Only small stakes e/w. I was talking to a pal earlier, that I saw in Llandudno, and he told me that other signs had imposed the same restrictions. Shy Talks.

All fully paid up members of the Self Preservation Society, Togo.
I'm still gnashing my teeth over Jason Weaver's remark about Johnston's horses always toughing it out. Not when i back them, they don't Mr Weaver!
Done 4 at HQ tonight. My Boy Lewis, Antico Lady, Agincourt and Princess Kiera and 3 of Hanagan's rides up at Ayr in a patent. Hopefully get a little extra to play with over the weekend.

Just clearing my emails, Togo, and there's one from the RP advertising a Frankie fivefold for today's racing with PaddyPower that would have paid out 37,127/1. So there was at least one firm willing to stick their necks out.
I have thrown the towel in for the day Ken.....Especially after being beaten by a nose in the last. Just sitting out back with "she who must be obeyed" with a glass, in glorious sunshine and very warm. Will cast my spy glass over tomorrow's card in an hour or so and have a look for anything that tickles my fancy. "She" is furious that the cricket has finished early, as believe it or not she has been watching and enjoying it for the last 2 weeks. Says that India is nailed on to win. Not arguing with her on that.
Togo, you say you only venture to Chester these days (lovely course), but have you been to Bangor on Dee?
We went a few times, lovely small course, good viewing, good racing/betting for the not-so-big names - and no real hassle getting in/out.
(May have to go again now I've bigged it up).
Yes Capito. Used to go regular way back when. But it is an exposed setting and can be wet and windy. Fair weather attendee at all outdoor events these days I'm afraid. Remember when the track at Bangor used to be planted with sweetcorn in the middle? Haha. Happy daze.
Ha ha, don't remember the sweetcorn - I'm obviously much, much younger than you.
I do know the ladies in our group took a shine to the Champagne and Strawberry tent though.
You stirred my memory bank there Capito. Used to go with 3 mates called Ray "fish", Dave "chef", and Paddy "pursor". Laugh non stop, and they were real blokes. Knew more wrinkles than a corrugated roof.
