As a spectacle, i suppose Royal Ascot is up there with the best but, imho, it's not a patch on Cheltenham for action and excitement and i always think there is a lot more hype about this festival, too. That said, it does give us an opportunity to see some beautiful animals in their prime and some at the onset of what could be brilliant careers but, as far as picking winners is concerned, it's a minefield - well, for me it is :-/
So, in hope rather than any confidence, these selections are what my studies have led me to choose.

2.30; Mustashry @ 9/2 (Rev f/c with Laurens)
3.05; Guildsman @ 7/1
3.40; Mab'sCross @ 8/1
5.35; Addeybb @ 7/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £24, 4 winners = £3,918.

ITV7; Mustashry, Final Frontier, Guildsman, Mab's Cross, Phoenix of Spain, Coeur De Lion & Addeybb.

Also have a gut feeling that the bookies have somewhat overlooked Mixboy (5.00) by pricing it up so high. As Skybet are paying on 6 places (1/5 odds) i've had £1.50 e.w. @ 25/1.

Best of luck, all.

Morning all, sorted mine out on the nightshift last night so hopefully a better day than yesterday
2.30 Flippa The Strippa
3.05 Jalmoud
3.40 Magical
4.20 Pretty Baby
5.00 New Graduate
5.35 Illusionist
and Highly Focussed in the 2.55 Hamilton for the ITV 7, good luck all
Ahh well said the soul. Ahh soul said the well. Situation normal here. A blank at Ascot but a very good winner at Hamilton with nothing back for it. I haven't gone off Summer Sands Ken, looked beaten by the draw today after all the early rain. The first 3 home were all drawn in the 20s on the stands side. The ground was miles better on that side late on and he must have lost 4 lengths getting across. As we noticed before he was doing his best work in the final furlong and made up ground on all but the wining 3. Start again tomorrow. :))
Oh and my teeth are holding out despite me grinding them at the racing from time to time.

No winners - I do like a bit of normality now and again. It's very life-affirming :-/ I'll be having a cursory glance at tomorrow's card but, as my mate has left me the password for his laptop, i don't need to finalise my selections until my first coffee break (about 11.30-ish). Whether or not it makes a blind bit of difference remains to be seen :-)
We will get em tomorrow Ken...….if not we will just enjoy the racing instead.

Just a thought isn't Panky on a jolly tomorrow at Ascot. Have a great day Panky.
I sure am Togo and thank you, just opened a bottle of red and going to have a look at tomorrow's runners, bit of a disappointing day today regarding winners so hopefully the sun's out tomorrow and dries the ground out a bit
Though so Panky. Hope the weather is kind to you and your companions. Been beautiful up here in N. Wales this afternoon. I was even able to sit outside in my shorts and flip flops this afternoon. Like you and Ken I have had a sneaky look at tomorrows runners and riders and it looks easy...…:)). Couple of conundrums to solve before committing a punt. I notice that Tudhope, currently the leading jockey has decided to ride at Ripon tomorrow. He must be looking forward to a good day up there to do that. Top notch job jockey. I am also pondering whether to follow Dettori closely tomorrow. He is due another one of his "Ascot days". May nip out early and pick up the Sun(newspaper), mine let me down today and I like their racing coverage. Will have an early night with the latest Neil Asher sci/fi novel, Warship. A trip around the cosmos always leaves me switched on next day. If you don't get chance to post before you leave, be sure to update us with news and happenings of the day. Again have a good one...………………..Have you polished your shoes yet?
Right I've had a good look and sticking with these..
2.30 Air Force Jet, Expressionist
3.05 Fox Chairman
3.40 Star Catcher
4.20 Dee Ex Bee
5.00 Victory Command ew
5.35 Great Example

Should be having an early night myself but been on nights this week and still in night mode so will probably watch a few Copa America matches and try and nick a few quid on them.

This whole post is like double dutch to me. I have no idea what you are talking about. :-)

Just saying. Good luck to you all.

Morning Tills...………...Nor have we. (^_*)

That cursory 'glance' last night turned into a proper study and nothing i've seen in today's papers has changed my mind. So, here's my 'hopefuls' for today.

2.30; Expressionist @ 12/1
3.05; Sangarius @ 15/2
5.00; Migration @ 7/1
5.35; Good Birthday @ 14/1

£2.50 e.w. Shambolic @ 16/1 3.40

Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca;
ITV 7, all of above plus Stradivarius and Ballard Down. 20p acca = just short of max payout, 90p e.w. acca = £580 for all placed.
Also done the Ascot placepot.

Good luck guys. Off to work :-(
Well, I’m glad I didn’t follow any of the tips posted here ;)
I wish you all better luck today.
I've got a spare £5 pound note so will have a punt, going to bookies now with your recommendations.
After Clovers comments I'm not sure, but if you're not on it you can't win it.
Think I will keep money in my pocket.
Bit late this morning. Like you Ken I have not changed tack much overnight. Done the ITV7 and a little e/w acca on it. Also had a £1 acca on Tudhope's 4 remaining rides up a Ripon. I have tried to persuade myself that the two hot pots in the 2.30 and 4.20 were worth taking on but my head won the tussle. I have therefor just put them in my ITV7 "bet". Good Luck. Hope Panky is having a pleasant journey and that the rain stays away from the venue. Don't be splashing that paint about Ken...…..cleaning it up is worse than putting it where it should be going.

Sangarius @7/1 3.05
Star Catcher @15/2 3.40
Turgenev @14/1 5.00
Sinjaari @11/2 5.35

£1.00 E/W Acca. 25p E/W Doubles and Trebles.

Those 4 and, Sunday Sovereign 2.30, Tahreek 2.55 Chelmsford, & Stradivarius 4.20 for the ITV7. If it is not won today there is a cash award for the "best performance".
// I am also pondering whether to follow Dettori closely tomorrow. He is due another one of his "Ascot days". //

I did warn you. Guaranteed payout coming here and the bookie is offering me nigh on £300 cash out on my bets. Covered the last 5 of my picks and may just wait until Stradivarius runs before hoovering up some of the buy me out sweeteners.
Frankie will carry Stradivarius home...……...unless it's a "fiddle".
Ascot is ok for a jolly but for the real enthusiasts you cannot beat jump racing. Be it Cheltenham or lowly Fakenham there is nothing like the thrill of the field approaching the last fence where anything can happen.
Cashed out one bet for £346. I still have the same last two that were in my 5 timer to go anyway, possible nice payout regardless.

So pleased you stuck to your remarks, Togo. I was watching the first 3 races, in between applying a little paint on the walls, and i thought to myself, "I do hope Togo has gone with the Dettori rides."
I did use my mates laptop to put a couple of quid e.w. on Ventura Rebel in the opener @ 16s. That plus the one winner (Sangarius) means i just about broke even for the day. Not bad considering i didn't really factor the drying conditions into my bets.
Pleased to see that Panky nabbed a winner, too. Hope it paid for the day out for him.
Once again, Togo, good shot:-)
