Hello!

I hope everyone is well on this wonderful summer morning.

I'm sure most of you will be watching England's make or break final group game against Slovenia today? I haven't felt this nervous about a football match in a while!

But, before the World Cup started, how many England fans were worried about our boys going up against Slovenia? I'd say none (although I'm sure there are some know-it-all pessimists out there crying out "I TOLD YOU SO!" at every opportunity they get). I think we were all pretty confident we could beat Algeria and Slovenia and qualify for the knockout stage in the top spot.

But here we stand with just two points and one average and one very poor performance behind us.

The media has relentlessly covered the "where did it all go wrong?" story over the last few days, questioning tactical choices, player fitness and the mood in the camp.

Where do you think it "went wrong" for England? And do we still have what it takes to make it right?

The magnitude of the game today feels on par with a semi-final aginst Brazil, but in reality we're playing a team of Championship level players whose captain has just been released by West Brom. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bad mouthing the Slovenians or what they have achieved so far, but we all know that we're better than them. We all know we can do so much better than we have in this tournament so far.

Enough talk lads, its time for action!

Get out there today and do us all proud!

Ed

P.S. If England get knocked out today, expect a very miserable and trigger happy Ed for the next few days.

we know we're better than Slovenia?

Do we know we're better than Algeria?
Question Author
Of course we're better than Algeria, although admittedly our performance didn't reflect that.

Gotta keep the faith!

Won't be convinced you're serious about it until you get that flag up spare
Question Author
I'm not the Spare!

And no flag I'm afraid, Dot. I think the man with the oversized football suits us perfectly!

Ed
Ed unfortunately many I have talked to have agreed this is the most boring world cup in recent times, along with the average games, lack of effort and unavoidable growing apathy It's not looking good, but don't get me wrong England and the world cup could suddenly go into overdrive and give us all what we want, though Im not going to bet on it.

Come on England, do us proud!
Are you searching through your 'clip art'folder for a copy of the World Cup ?

Just in case................
At least the Scot won yesterday..........
So what did you do with the St Georges Day flag that you finally found about 2 in the afternoon on St Georges Day? Can't you make an editorial decision to fly that one for the afternoon?
AB is frightfully international, Dot, some of us foreigners are only here to sign on the dole and debauch your children and want nothing to do with St George.

craft - do you mean Andy Murray? I find that he looks to grumpy and miserable and seems to have had a personality transplant/removal.

The man who coined the phrase 'Squeaky Bum Time' is partly responsible for Englands current woes.
i agree wolf.......not the most attractive of people is he.
My mate Steve is flying to New York - he gets terrible PMT (Pre-Match Tension). We had a TV at work (A Sports Shop) but I finished at 3:00 p.m. It's a good job as well because I'm the most vocal fan and my French would probably get me sacked!!!!!

I'm clenched and my @rse it eating the duvet.....
