Well that's it then 'done and dusted'. England boys off on their holidays early after another abject performance. Despite all the media hype we were rubbish. And Rooney's great goal, it was a tap in for chr**t sake. Pity they didn't wear the English shirt with more passion, but there again with the money they earn they obviously don't give a ***. Pathetic!!!!!

I sense your a bit unhappy ?
Is it ever possible for the opposition to, you know, be better than us? And to be fair to England it was in part the brilliance and Suarez and in part one awful mistake by Gerrard that led to the crucial goal...
Indeed.
Settle down, its just a game!
At least there will now be some matches worth watching if you are that way inclined.
Just to clear up something... I heard a commentator say, before the match, that England needed to win to have the chance of staying in in their own hands. Is there the tiniest mathematical possibility of staying in, if someone beats someone else by six goals or something like that? Just wondering. I'm not a football fan, but would have liked to have seen them carry on a bit longer.
Thank heavens England lost. Now we can concentrate on serious matters, such as the Test Match which starts at Headingley tomorrow!
I think Italy need to win both their remaining games and we need to beat Costa Rica, and then the goal difference needs to work out in our favour too -- so we need to beat Costa Rica by about two or three clear goals.
Jo:
England can still go through to the knock-out stage if they beat Costa Rica and Italy beat Uruguay.

Yes there are extreme mathematical possibilities, but all a big IF, IF, IF.
Reminds me of an old saying, "IF my granny had *** she'd be my grandad".
Ok, thanks jim360. So, not totally out yet.
Anyway, as Buenchico said, there's the cricket tomorrow. And then Wimbledon on Monday.
If my dog didnt stop for a ***, he'd of caught that rabbit!
Thanks, Buenchico and Penelope, you weren't there before.
So not much chance then.
Strangely enough, I thought they actually played quite well in both matches.

If you want to see England performances that really can be described as pathetic - go back four years to the last world cup. That really was a disgrace.
I thought they were awful, Ludwig. I've only ever watched football when England are playing in the World Cup (about 5 games, then;-)). They were a mess. Only about three players (including goalie) seemed to make any effort.
Really surprised that player was allowed to continue after being knocked out.
Buenchico,What if Italy and Costa Rica draw or Costa Rica win tomorrow, have you worked that one out,not very good reading if it happens.
I don't think England were brilliant, especially not at the start of the second half, but they lost the game for two reasons: a short second of bad play by Gerrard for the second goal, and at the other end that final touch just not being there. It wasn't like we were thrashed (again, except for at the start of the second half).
Everhelpful -- only Two Italy wins will do. Any other results in their games and at least two teams will have at least 4 points.
I'm not watching the World Cup but glad that my team ABE did well today.
Jim,That's what I said in a roundabout way,a draw tomorrow England are out,a win for Costa Rica means either Italy or Uruguay will go through as each of them will only need the one point.
