Don't you think it's ironic that he's an "expert" for tonights Great Britain & Northern Ireland Olympic football match when the Scots refused to act like grown ups and banned their players from being available?
Surely he doesn't care!

I think he is the most depressing part of MOTD every week. Jointly with Lawrensen of course. I now Skyplus the football and fast forward the "experts".
He gets paid a pretty penny for the privilege!
alan has made his money in england, he knows where his bread is buttered.
Why any of them .Show the game give us a bit singing in the interval .thought the beeb was going to more careful with OUR money The initials of the experts on at the moment RSAH anagram of rash +irritant
Fortunately i have cable and all 24 of the bbc's olympic channels have become available free and in hd; the coverage on there doesn't hand back to the studio so it's shown commentary-less highlights of the 1st half, and now just views and sounds from the stadium.
Alan Hansen may have been a brilliant footballer, but he is a waste of an awful lot of licence payers money.
............and oxygen, and space.

He used to play for Partick Thistle.....so lay off him!!
I was waiting for that Wharton.

He allegedly asked for a handsome sum of money to open Sauchie Juniors new stand, and he is from Sauchie.

That doesn't surprise me. I had the misfortune to meet him once...he's a creep.
I don't expect people to do things for nothing, but Hansen is already wealthy beyond most people's dreams, Sauchie are a small junior club, and it is his home town.

Yes I saw him play for Partick in the 70s, very good for our level (Scottish 1st) but certainly not brilliant. His brother John played in the Thistle team that beat Celtic 4-1 in the 1971 League Cup Final....I use any excuse for mentioning that!!
Long ago given up lisyening to the so called experts - I like you go to football regularly through the season. I find the attitude of most football shows on both radio and TV to be patronising and naive.

I appreciate that there maybe some base level viewers but it just seems they cater to the lowest denominator. One thing I enjoy about the US version of ESPN is they don't treat the viewer like an idiot.

So these days I turn on at KO time turn over at HT back for the 2nd half
and turn off at 90 mins - No sound. I wish they would do a red button channel with no comentary or just an unbiased commentator in the Bryon Butler/John Motson/Brian Moore mould.
Sorry didn't see the othe Hanson comments - Hansen was a brilliant player for a couple of years possibly the best in Britain.
