A friend of mine is in a quandarry and is at a loss what to do. She went abroad for a couple of monthe and entrusted me with the key to her house! After a month she asked me to open any letters which look like they may be utility bills and keep her informed.
One of them was from OneTel threatening disconnection if the account was not cleared. I took the liberty of paying the whole amount outstanding by telephone using my own credit card and informed her, but they disconnected her phone just the same.
She is now in the position of having no phone, but being unable to change suppliers as the existing line must be live!! What can she do to force OneTel to either reconnect her phone to continue with their service or so that she can move to a new supplier???? She pays for her Broadband service to Tiscali by direct debit but cannot use it without a live phone line!!!

have they said why they have disconnected her? i had the same problem a long time ago, id paid them and they said i hadnt, i had hells own job getting them to reconnect me, i had to threaten legal action
but then again onetel is talktalk so what youve said is not surprising, the quicker your friend gets rid of them the better

One of the problems is she can't get rid!! They won't reconnect her, nor can she move to a new supplier whilst the line isn't live!!! It's a catch 22 situation.
