Have two different accounts, one for buying and the other for selling.
you can't
the whole point of feedback is so that others can see it.
"If you want to sell on eBay, your feedback comment information must be visible to everyone.

If you choose to make your feedback comments private, you won’t be able to sell items on eBay and the feedback comments you’ve left and received will be hidden from other members. However, your overall number of positive, neutral, and negative feedback ratings will still be displayed."

I might have misunderstood how eBay works but how would someone see your feedback unless they already knew what you had bought and had seen your feedback on a listing or seen it by chance?
Corby, let’s say you want to a laptop and see a used one that appeals for £400. You click on the sellers feedback, select ‘see all feedback’ and find that he bought it as spares for £50. Do you still want to buy it?
If it shows only feedback comments made by a seller does that mean not all purchases are viewable, only those with the seller's feedback?

A seller must show all his feedback, as buyer and seller
I always check sellers feedback if I'm buying from someone for the first time. I want to see both the comments and the item.
I've noticed recently that with some the item isn't visible. Is this new? It's annoying.
BARRY, regarding the mark-up, I have no idea of the profit margins of sellers.

If the price of an item is less than the same product or similar to items on the market and I have checked for any poor reviews and have no doubts it is a genuine website, I will buy the item.

If the item is not as described, I would contact the seller and ultimately eBay, if required, for a refund.
If someone has good feedback as a seller, what impact does his feedback as a buyer have?
I was just giving a hypothetical example as to why buyers look at sellers feedback and why some sellers want to hide their feedback. I have separate buying and selling accounts
Corby, you see that the seller bought the item from a.nother.
You look at a.nother's listings and see he is offering a better deal.
I am just wondering why eBay insists that others have access to a seller's purchases feedback.

Someone could be a great seller but poor when it comes to buying. I cannot see the rationale behind the requirement.
Corby, a new seller doesn't have feedback so some buy lots of very low value items, many delivered digitally, to artificially increase their feedback.

I don’t mind them seeing comments, I would like the items I buy to be private.
As I said, two separate accounts is the only way
