Lots of spammers on here lately , is it worth reporting them ?

It has been an absolute spam invasion this morning. I report any spam I see but I think the Ed needs to increase the number of Mods so there's more coverage at peak times.

still puzzles me why the spammers bother on ab, they're zapped before they have a chance to gain anything . . .

I think they get paid - probably a trivial amount - just for posting. But if you do a lot it adds up.

Brian, as soon as a mod sees it spam is removed.

If eds around probly just one. If easier not around hundred reports don't do anything...it needs a mod to spot the spam

If the Mods miss a spammer, only one report need be made for the EDs to see it.

How would appointing a Mod only for spam help if that Mod were not online when the spam appears?

APG had a bee in her bonnet about spam being rife and not being addressed but one of the EDs put her right about that.
