I wonder how wise it is for bookmakers to offer odds on the naming of the royal baby. Normally odds are given against future events which are at the time unknowable. What would stop Kate telling her friends to stick a few grand on the name she has already chosen?

You old cynic Khandro... shame on you for having such a low opinion of our future queen.. OK you have a point:-)
One of the royal reporters said he reckons the baby will be called 'Elizabeth Diana Carol'

I didn't hear his prediction for a boys name.
Like they say the Queen Mum did, for one of her grandchildren ?

She didnt go down to the local bookies,
she sent her servant (foot man)
Tyrone or perhaps Wayne if its a boy, and Chardonnay or maybe Krystal if its a girl !
reckon it will be a strange name! my guess isitmine
Lol@Khandro. Do you honestly think you could walk into a bookies & 'slap' a few grand on something like this. Ho-ho.
A few years ago, bookies suspended bets on the colour of the Queen's outfit at Royal Ascot. That was prompted by a large value of bets being placed on one colour. The bets were being placed in Windsor. Windsor Castle is next to Ascot racecourse. The Queen stays there during the race meeting.....
St Diana favoured Oliver - as her result of her regard for royalty they say
I reckon it will be Elizabeth Diana Carol(ine)
Ha ha, St. Diana!
If it's a boy Charles Philip, or Philip Charles
I reckon baby will be called Jayden or Brittany.
Perhaps the Ed. would like to run a Poll with a prize for the Aber nearest to the correct name!!
Do hope that they choose something chavvy. That would raise the status of the Waynes and Waynettas at a stroke. Puzzled by Wayne. Is it taken from John Wayne? His real name was Marion.
King Marion ;o)
Boy Philip Charles Louis
Girl Marina (or mary) Kathryn Elizabeth
if Charles Sr is planning to dump the name when he reaches the throne (on account of Charleses I and II being bad omens), and be King Arthur II or something, then there doesn't seem much point in naming a new son Charles.
Wayne is said to mean wagon maker, as in Constable's the Haywayne
(that wasn't a joke, btw)
Unless its her choice I do feel slightly sorry for Kate if she's sort of pressured to have Diana as part of the baby's name (assuming it's a girl- obviously!). I always get the impression she's sort of in Diana's shadow as it is, and is being compared to.
