That's a very deep question.

do you find your hatred to be detrimental to your spirit naomi?

Question Author

I hate what some people do and say, untitled, but I don't hate anyone.

It's difficult to forgive those who have trespassed against us.

But it's worth the effort because if you don't try you've been injured twice.

and do you find your hatred for what people do and say to be detrimental to your spirit?

I believe it does eat away at your soul.

I can't explain why I  feel that way , or even offer any proof to back up my belief.

If you're not religious,  I still believes it eats away at you.

Question Author

No, I don't, untitled.  I would find it far more damaging to agree with them.

It's certainly bad for the body. Hatred takes a lot of emotional energy, causes stress, can stop one feeling happy. It can be all-consuming.

Question Author

I agree. Alba.

I agree, alba.

Those who relish in their 'hate' often seem to be bitter and twisted across life, in general. It's like an infection which eats away at the ability to enjoy life.

don't you feel hatred for transgender people jack? some of the things you have written about them seem to be quite sincere expressions of hatred.

I sincerely believe that transpeople are their sex which was observed at birth.

I hate the way they behave and the womens' rights they have claimed for themselves, I hate the intrusions and I hate the way their interests have been placed above everyone elses.

But it would be exhausting to try to hate each one individually...

There is also a gulf between hatred and deep disliking of someone or something.

I deeply dislike trans activists, for example, but they are not worthy of my energy.

this is not merely dislike. this is hatred. is it not?

Factually correct, I'd say.

I don't hate them, I'm repelled by them....

to answer for myself, i think there are things which should be hated. i hate genocide and those who attempt to rationalise or justify it. i hate cruelty and abuse directed toward vulnerable populations.

i think that too often people hide behind politeness and decorum in order to advocate for things that truly are reprehensible and that it is not only necessary but admirable to breach that decorum.

i do not beieve that such a thing is detrimental to the spirit. i think it is a sign of spiritual fortitude.

is it not an expression of hatred to say that you are repelled by someone? seems as though you want to enjoy a bit of hatred without admitting that you do it.

No, I'm not that coy. If I hated them, I'd say so.

I find them repellent and I am incensed that they have spent years trying to undermine the things it took women decades to achieve.

It seems this discussion is only about hating religions/ideologies/political beliefs and as I've not experienced that I've no idea if it's detrimental to the spirit but I have hated an individual to the point it was overwhelming and interfered with sleep and exhausted me through my regular imaginary fights with them and desperation to hurt them back and yes that was incredibly negative to my wellbeing for a long while. However not really relevant here if it's just about personal attacks on others' views.

I have a steaming hatred at the moment. It has comsumed me for about 18 months. It is exhausting and I am trying to let it go. I just can't right now, even though I know it is futile and also negatively affecting myself and my personality.
