This huge structure being constructed in Birmingham is due to open in 2023. A survey carried out by the group responsible found that one third of people believe that prayer helps their mental well-being. What do you think?

I think it's good and glad it's just for Christians, to preserve our heritage, as they say ..
It's going to look marvellous.

As to the benefit to the individual when it comes to prayer, that's very much different for everyone but in the main I think it can be very therapeutic.
//I think it's good and glad it's just for Christians, to preserve our heritage, as they say//

England's 'Heritage' is not Christian.
Christianity is a Middle Eastern religion.
England's Religious Heritage is Druidry.
Let's enjoy Yom Kippur and, accordingly, reflect on this.
Not taking you on nailit, go and argue with some other mug.

LOL
Prayer does help mental well-being. However this huge structure seems a pointless and monumental waste of money.
There's no evidence that prayer ever achieved anything concrete. It may be the case that it makes people happy, but no evidence that god changed the laws of physics for the benefit of any individual.
The question posed was about improving mental well being.
Mmy... alcohol and cannabis improve people's happiness, but where does that get us?
The question is regarding helping mental well-being.
Mental seems to be winning by a nose so far.
Improving mental well-being does not equate with demonstrating the truth. The drinker and the stoner may both be happier with their status, and what's different fron that and the religious believer?
I’m a stoner, I’m happy… never prayed tho (since the age of about 10 anyways).

Prayer made my aunty happy… she never smoked weed tho.

So prayer can make people happy, which I’d imagine is a contributor to their mental well being..
Atheist, I know it's a novelty but I tend to answer the question asked and not one that wasn't.
Yep, prayer definitely helps mental wellbeing for many people. It's not necessarily about finding answers- for many people it's simply therapeutic and has mental health benefits similar to that of yoga or meditation.

Only just read that sentance, on second reading ;-)

...
Again, Christianity is not England's religious heritage.
It might be its latest, but its not its original....
Could equelly as well have a scientology wall of prayer!!!.

Just wondering how well this would have gone down if it was a Muslim wall of prayer??
Would the same sentiments on AB have been displayed?
