If there any young earth creationists here, I'd be interested to hear why you hold that view. I'm not looking for a squabble, just seeking to understand where you are coming from.

It is not of any importance as far as my relationship with Jesus Christ is concerned.
Given the huge errors found in carbon dating and the fossil record, I am open to persuasion, and keep an open mind.
It is not that important, other than being an interesting conversation.
My energies are more productive elsewhere.
What exactly do you mean by young-earth creationist? Not sure if I qualify or not!
I am a creationist, some believe the whole of creation is only about 6000 years old.
No, I don't believe the earth was created 6000 years ago, but probably millions of years ago.

The Bible simply states “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Ge 1:1) Just how long ago the starry heavens and the earth were created is not stated. Therefore, there is no basis for Bible scholars to take issue with scientific calculations of the age of the planet. Scientists estimate the age of some rocks as being three and a half billion years, and the earth itself as being about four to four and a half billion or more years. I believe there could possibly be millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. This would be the pre-man era, and would include the periods of dinosaurs etc.

With regard to the six creative days of the Genesis account, these days refer not to the creation of earth, but with the arranging and preparing of it for man to live on it.
Yes, its interesting to me but not important.
Theland, //My energies are more productive elsewhere.//

Where?
Studying subjects other than a young Earth.
Why productive? I thought you'd made up your mind so why do you need more endorsement?
Why productive?
I'm surprised you ask.
Jewish history for a start.
To what purpose?
To a better understanding of the bible.
Why not try Greek History and the Olympian Gods ?
No thanks. My time is valuable.
If Theland doesn't want to answer these questions, stop pocking him. He's of no obligation.

I don’t know what you’re reading, mozz, but I’m
reading Theland’s answers. I can’t see him complaining.
If you’re confident you’re right, what more is there to understand ... and why would you need to understand more?
Its all a bit of a mystery to me.They say the universe was caused and originated by the"big bang",but what caused the "big bang"and what was there there before the"big bang"?
Theland - how are you coping healthwise ?

I recall you posting some very sad news recently ( if I'm not mistaken )
Might take a while for some to catch up Atheist. It's been less than 200 years since it was demonstrated that the Earth spins on it's axis saving the universe from the tremendous task of circling the Earth each day.
