Today's people are fond of such statements as: “Now the way I see it is,” “As I understand it,” or “Well, that’s your understanding.” How different this is from Jesus’ position! Never did he say: “Now as I see it, so-and-so is right,” implying that someone else might see it a different way.
No with Jesus and he's true followers, doctrines were either right or wrong, true or false, there was no halfway ground, no gray, indefinite, in-between shade between truth and error.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 | Lead a quiet life, mind your own business, work with your hands"
I know what the Bible contains - lots of pages.
My favourite religion quote
From Terry Pratchett ,

if you stopped tellin' people it's all sorted out after they're dead, they might try sorting it all out while they're alive.' (GO)

So this Jesus person being so certain and always right sounds a bit to good to be true.

Although some on here have the same opinion of themselves, so one does wonder.

Patsy33@ People want to know the whys and wherefores of things. But do you know that this curiosity is one of man’s gifts from his Creator? It has proved to be of great help to mankind, but, like all other instincts and qualities, its use can be wise or otherwise, foolish or even harmful.

That why Christians times to be counseled not to be “meddling with what does not concern them,” but to ‘mind their own business.’—1 Thess. 4:11.
That's one interpretation. It's clear to me that if everyone just minded their own business, and got on with life, the world would be a better place.
Goodlife , for the third time, why do you print endless tracts and then ignore reasonable questions - this being just one more of them.
Just thinking, the way our JW contributors set out their posts and the way they present God as a product or service they want us to buy into it's advertising no different to the stuff that gets zapped,
Yes, they are a printing corporation....
Well, I read my Bible regularly. It has certainly brought me comfort when I feel frustrated at what goes on around the world. The TV adverts regarding poor starving children and the polluted water they drink.
What gets me is that all these people that promote these adverts are wealthy TV personalities, do they donate to these causes?
Another point, they keep asking for these donations and they are creeping up. Used to be £2 a month, now its £5 or more. Where do they thing people are getting their money from now that there are so many redundancies etc due to COVID. some families can hardly feed themselves.
Still I'm deviating from the subject. Sorry.

Patsy33@ If a honest people look at himself and human history and world conditions today bears out the truthfulness of the divine pronouncement recorded at Jeremiah 10:23: ‘It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.

Many people envy the happy ones, wanting to be that way too. They may try to remedy their unhappiness through artificial means, and still wonder why happiness eludes them. Jesus acknowledged this fundamental urge, saying: “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need,” or those who recognize and respond to their spiritual hunger. (Matt. 5:3) and not just to themselves.
A lot of the quotes from the Bible are surely dependent on who translated them in the first place? A word mistranslated can change the whole meaning of a sentence.
I take good care of my spiritual needs, thank you.

Hellywelly4- True, So are you prepared to study it then, you take Jehovah's name, For a start how many times is the name Jehovah's mentioned in the Bible, because you cannot have Lord or God as a name, you got a name so has God.
Sorry. I don’t know what you mean.
Goodlife, //For a start how many times is the name Jehovah's mentioned in the Bible//

In your very recent translation, thousands - in the rest of the various versions at the most low double figures - but then your anonymous committee added other stuff too - and whipped out what it didn’t like. And yes, I do have a copy. Nothing like making it fit to suit. What a wily old bunch of preachers your lot are, Goodlife. ;o)
