I thought that Atheism is just like any other faith; and now I see even they have many denominations.

It could still exist AND be a load of nonsense.
Khandro, one other thing.

//atheists who say they don't believe in God and atheists who say there is no God.//

It was called ‘the Church of Self-Worship’. There’s a clue there.
Maybe they stopped believing they didn’t believe?
This is a bit like asking somebody " How many types of fairies are there that you don't believe in"?

I don't get on here very often and because I live where there are mountains there are times when my signal goes down or is very unstable.
As your question Naomi, here is the info.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/andrewbrown/2013/jul/15/six-types-of-atheist
idiosyncrasy: Naomi can't even grasp the fact of two, so six is going to be asking a lot & is certain produce massive overload.
I thnk they're breaking down atheists into personality types, which is as useful as breaking down christians into personality types. What's it all for? There are aggressive and argumentative people; there are live and let live people; selfish and unselfish people; evangelical types and the opposite. It's all something for analysts to find to do with their time.
How do I not love thee . . . let me count the ways.
Douglas, don't think you can get away with quoting Ray Davies without me noticing. ;-)
Khandro, //Naomi can't even grasp the fact of two, so six is going to be asking a lot & is certain produce massive overload.//

If you think insulting me makes you look smart … it doesn’t. It does your intellect a great disservice.

As for the multiple types of atheist theory, you’re falling for psychobabble - but then I think it’s the penchant of those religiously inclined to complicate life. Rejection of the notion of the existence of supernatural gods is rejection. There are no half-measures - or even one seventh-measures.
I suppose you could be nontheist if you want to create factions.
I wonder if Khandro believes in slightly pregnant women.
There aren’t 6 types of atheist theory. The article seeks to define 6 types of atheist. Another AB thread goes awry for the lack of understanding the article being referenced.
The religious really seem to struggle to get their heads around the idea that some people simply dismiss the concept of any god. That they themselves reject, just as positively, all gods other than their own doesn’t seem to resonate with them.
naomi: I no more "struggle" to understand that you do not believe in God than I do with the fact that some people love Marmite & some hate it.
Non of which has anything to do with the OP though.
So your point is ... what, Khandro?
idiosyncrasy, putting a group of people all under one named classification is unwise. (I am not saying you are doing this)
Terms commonly casually bandied about like god, democracy, socialism, capitalism, communism are easy to use, hard to define.
Best to ask the individual for clarification, but of course, as on here, they may choose not to answer.
Here is an interesting take with an explanation of their opinion:
Atheism is no different from Afairyism or Aunicornism or Asantaism.
I dont get whats so hard to grasp?
//and now I see even they have many denominations//
Eh?
How many denominations of non-believers in fairies are there?
How many denominations of non-believers in unicorns are there?
How many denominations of non-believers in Santa are there?
Ridiculous post.

Naillit:
It is not a ridiculous post! I have been doing some research into Atheism, not for any particular reason, (just for something to do) and I have found that there can be as many as 17 different kinds of Atheism.
