It's the tooth fairy for cowardly adults.
I don't want eternal life. I just want my spirit to haunt AB's servers and play occasional tricks with them.

Actually, now I come to think about it, they're probably haunted already!

;-)
You will eventually find yourself to be in the eternal "now". Everything will just be. You won't have time to become bored.
Chris, I'm coming back as a cat and adopting you
Sorry, Psybbo.

Humans simply aren't intelligent enough to become cats ;-)
Beware Chris :-)
I agree with O_G.
You might as well say "won't you get bored after 20 years?" or 60, 80 or whatever, never mind a gazillion. There'll always be new things to do and learn about. I don't fancy it myself, though. Not that it will happen, obviously.
I could finish the quilt I'm making for the daughter...about a million fifty pence sized pieces all hand sewn together then quilted...by hand.... :-(
wowbagger the infinitely prolonged (q/v) had the right idea for dealing with being immortal. :-)
Yeah but how long does it take you to find Zarquon ? In any case the issue is that you are already dead so being killed isn't really a solution. Perhaps the important bit is the journey and what you do during it though. What letter are you up to ?
All the cherubim and seraphim ceaselessly crying holy holy holy would get me down after 20 mins

Seriously though, I think the whole eternal life shtick is an unconscious social metaphor that emerged early in our social evolution, to represent an awareness that we are materially connected to everyone and everything.
ie our molecules have come from aeons before and will continue in other forms aeons after.
Very comforting.
Just imagine your millionth birthday.
All that time spent singing hymns and casting down your golden crowns ( I never did grasp that bit of the hymn)
I'd be bored to sobs after ten minutes.
At least Muslims get a paradise garden with fruits to eat and ( some say) houris to enjoy
Valhalla also sounds fun in comparison, although again I'm not sure what the ladies got from it.
The ancient Egyptian heaven was like what people seek in life now - themselves, but flawlessly beautiful, endlessly rich, days filled with fun and pleasure. The only drawback being that one of the soul's aspects needed the human body to come back and roost in, and lots depended on your name being remembered.
Wouldn't it be cool if part of eternity was a library of every human soul who ever lived and you could watch their lives unfold in real time from the moment of their birth. It would pass a few millennium.

Are you under the impression that belief says that you to take your earthly body with you divebud ?

May not even be gender in any "heaven". Surely spirits have no need to breed. You may well leave all that sort of stuff behind.

I struggle over the concept of eternal life. My idea of eternal life is that you live on through your children, grandchildren and so on. Your line goes on without end. This of course has holes in it, and assumes you will have children who will have children.......................
