"...ask for the ancient paths where the good way is and walk in it....." - Is Jeremiah asking us to shun certain aspects of the modern world ?
Goodlife, that's not a question and I can't see any indication that it's a subject for debate. You're preaching again.
Sorry, have I not been making myself clear ?
The acquisition of further knowledge ends where beliefs in gods begin.

Well a Bible proverb says: The heart of the wise one causes his mouth to show insight, and to his lips it adds persuasiveness.” (Proverbs 16:23)

Really, then, the key to successful is communication is in the heart, not in the mouth.
Have you shown yourself discouraged in the day of distress? Your power will be scanty.” (Proverbs 24:10)

So, instead, look on the situation as a challenges is can make life interesting

That if you don't runaway from them. undertake future tasks with greater assurance and enjoyment.
Goodlife, what are you talking about - and what, if anything, does your last post have to do with your original non-question?
I was only discouraged in this day of distress after reading your post goodlife, can you explain what it all means please?
I like the way that Goodlife is so tired of cutting and pasting that he, lazily, types a verse number and expects US to go look it up for ourselves.

If a salesman came to your door, handed you a scrap of paper with a URL on it and walked away, that would be equally as effective.

Is the message that the wise should not be reticent , that they should be encouraged to come forward with their views and say what they think ?
Unlike Goodlife who does little more here than copy and paste other men's words, isn't that what 'militant' atheists do?

Hypo,

That gave me a laugh, where JW's are concerned I don't even bother going to the door to get any scraps!
By God, you do waffle on goodlife. Have you flouted Proverb 23:20 ???

I was making a subtle dig at the fact that the forum format suits people who prefer conversation to soundbites/140 characters/etc. and that being made to chase up a link without so much as a taster of what to expect (especially the length of the read or duration of a video) is, to me, rather irritating.

The OP isn't even a hyperlink. It will only take me a minute to google it, pick a sote and read it but, if it's a one-liner it would barely take that long to type it up in the first place. Plus it's always on view as the thread progresses.

I still can't be ar

…sed to look it up so I am none the wiser about the point Goodlife is trying to get across. I'll bet he puts "good communication skills" on his CV. Talking a lot is not what this means though.
Doesn't chapter and verse pique the interest of some and prompt them to consult the good book?

People today are tired of living under the eye of God.

They prefer to live in freedom.” The Bible’s moral code is renounced as impractical, unrealistic.

There thinking is much like that of the Egyptian Pharaoh who defiantly declared: “Who is Jehovah, so that I should obey his voice . . . ? I do not know Jehovah at all.” He rejected Jehovah’s authority.—Exodus 5:2.
And you know what happen to him.
I concur wholeheartedly with Mr Fry.

I'll come back to you on this as Goodlife has returned with a passage from Exodus I need to check...
