Saved by modern medical technology. Who does he thank? Not the doctors and researchers who developed the cure.

If anyone asks him why he thanks God and not the medical profession, I dare say that God gave them the ability to heal him.

He is a very luck man, God or not.
I'd agree - a Christian believes that everything flows from God - it is God's purpose that he contracted this disease, and God's purpose that God gave medical skill to save him - again for God's own purpose.

So from that perspective, I would suggest that Dr Brantly believes that God is in pole position when the gratitude is being dished out.

He is not an idiot.
I'm sure doctors, nurses, firemen etc all are used to hearing people thank God before they thank them for saving them. If they ever do.
I have just typed what I think of his 'thanks to god' - but the sweary word filter would have been in overdrive and rendered my diatribe as a pile of asterisks.

Let's just say I think he's 'misguided'.
Once anyone starts attributing everything to god, logic flies out the window. Obviously god created the Ebola virus and made sure that people in Africa became infected. Previously he had given other people the dedication to try to cure diseases so one of these goes to Africa to try to help the people that god has infected with the deadly virus. However god is a bit miffed at these people trying to thwart his plans so sees to it that they get infected too. Meanwhile some more people that god has created as dedicated medical personell try to thwart this plan too and seem to have succeeded. Beware the wrath of the lord, where will it all end. There is of course a simpler explanation, modern medecine is more powerful than god.

His attitude along with that of so many religious leaders is damaging to those who are suffering from the disease.

So, that's all cleared up then, all roads lead to Rome, I mean, God..

I don't agree with him, but he is as entitled to his opinion as I am to mine

Actually, it cannot be 100 percent proved that it Was the new treatment which cured him. Some people just do recover from ebola. There will have to be extensive trials to ensure the treatment is effective and safe. And the technology wil have to be massively scaled up. Is god going to do all that, too ?

If god cured him then I wonder who infected him in the first place!!!
The man is a fool. If God exists he’s playing a sick game. He creates a deadly disease and then sits back and waits to see if man can create a remedy. Who in his right mind can admire that?

LOL, don't you know that god tests us, naomi !.
Why believe that God (if He exists) has a purpose?
