Is The Matrix Real And Are We All Living A Lie In An Elaborate Simulation Overseen By A Super Race?

I've had me doubts about the "real world" for some time now. Life appears too perfect once you see past the wars, crime, disease and bad happenings which appear to have been put here purposefully as to throw doubt in the minds of those that could see the system for what it actually is.
Maybe religion is along the right lines with their knowledge of God=The Architect, Satan and demons=Agents+Sentinels, Heaven=The real universe, Hell=Here, the Matrix and so on...Please comment after only reading these links and tell me what you think.

What are your general thoughts?

So you think that life is 'perfect' apart from all the hideous, violent, imperfect stuff? How does that work exactly?
I read the contents of your first link and my conclusion is that it's utter drivel. It reads like an idiot trying to explain things that he's seen on TV science programmes but hasn't really understood much of anything. The article is so full of half-truths and utter fabrications asserted as fact that I could easily write a 10,000+ word piece ripping it to shreds. Time and sanity prevents me from doing so.

My first general thought about Mr. Icke's pronouncements is that if you think he is a rational person and someone whose views and opinions require careful consideration and contemplation then you need to take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror and question your own rationality. As an example, David Icke believes (amongst other things) that the British royal family are actually shape-shifting lizard-aliens in human form and that there are people mining helium on the planet Saturn...
