I have just received three powerpoint files with graphic pictures of what happens to the arm of an 8 year old boy who pinched some food on a market, very disturbing photos of homo sexuals and how women are disfigured who refuse to marry the man that is chosen for them.

This is all done in the name of peace and love to make the offenders aware of their shortcomings, the religion of peace and love.

Should we actively reject this cruel and invasive religion in Society or should we continue as now, so we will all be subjected to this religious law in the future?

Anngel, if I lived in that society, mucking about with my hair and make-up would be the least of my worries.

Duncer, you’re right. There are a lot of young people who are becoming radicalised – but compared to those who are not, and who are choosing their freedom, those numbers are relatively small.
True naomi - it's different as a visitor, you don't live the real life of it. Not being able to go out without a male chauffeur/escort would drive me potty, but these women (mostly foreign nationals married to locals, not native Arabs) seemed reconciled to it.
Bluestone...why stupid? Flippant maybe, but it makes sense to those of us not blessed with beauty or a lovely figure to be able to cover it all up with a beautiful blue tablecloth. (By the way I would like shares in the company which makes those blue burkas!!)
Blue tends to be the Afghans - in Saudi, it's black, black and more black...
some parts of East London do have stickers on lamp posts and groups of young men patrolling,
That is scary Baza. They need to get the Met in there..unless they are too busy being PC.
they do seem to be too busy chasing up and down the A13 with flashing lights on but do not see what is under their noses. Its PC gone mad.
Bluestone, if the Muslim population continued reproducing at its present rate it wouldn’t take that long before Muslims became the majority – and that’s what people fear - but it won’t happen. The children brought here or born here and educated here will end up having 2.4 children (is it still 2.4?) just like the rest of us.
1.6 now, I think.
Anngel, my sister wears the full burka (Black though, not Blue?) and I can assure you, I would have no desire to do so myself - crap hair/face/figure/whatever!
The average household size in the UK is 2.4 people now - whereas it used to be 2.4 children per couple.
I'm not convined that an education in british schools will bring much change, At work we had a couple of work experience girls from a local high school , they were in Y10 and after school monday to friday from 5 - 8pm they had to attend the mosque for their lessons on their faith. they had no social life by all accounts and seemed very quiet and isolated.
Exactly! So there's nothing to actually fear.
It's just the BNP/EDL scaremongering that people have bought into, thinking that Muslims are going to take over!
That's not uncommon in some households, dotty, but by no means all. The children of my Muslim friends lead what we would consider a normal life outside school.
naomi I wish that it was that simple, the ones brought up here still go along with arranged marriages with spouses from their parents/grandparents villages . I know of one family, 2 male one female children, born and educated here, all three had arranged marriages. I know this as a fact as I attended the weddings.
I still wanna know why someone was sending Wildwood "disturbing pictures"...
Is it just Muslims that have arranged marriages?
What has arranged marriages got to do with it?
Dot, but will they treat their own children in the same way? That's what I'm saying. The children of the current immigrants live by their parent's old fashioned rules - they have no choice - but I strongly suspect that when they're parents themselves the rules may well change. Young people exposed to western culture will not choose repression over freedom.

Got to go to bed. Good discussion - even though we've deviated from the original question. Hopefully we can get back on track tomorrow.

Night all. x
@Baza :)
