alien abductions

Is there any breakdown of where alien abductions are supposed to have taken place? It seems that the majority of 'abductions' take place in the USA.
just curious as to where this 'phenomonon' occurs and why.

The proof of alien abduction is all around you, worldwide. After quite sensible people have been abducted, probed and have 99% of their cerebral cells extracted, they are put back on Earth to see the result. These subjects invariably become politicians.

I think that there are two reasons people claim such things. First, I think that some people desperately crave attention and want to be regarded as 'special' in some way. They know they're lying but enjoy the apparent kudos that being an alien abductee gives them. They repeat the lie so often that it becomes second nature to them. They can pass polygraph tests with flying colours (which is actually quite easy if you know how to do it). They convince themselves of the lie and then go on to convince others. They join or create support groups that perpetuate the lie and so on and so on.
The second set of people are just gullible. These people are not wilfully telling fibs but have been duped by their own subconscious into believing that they've had this experience. A lucid dream can feel very real indeed and the paralysis experienced whilst you're dreaming can be quite frightening.
It's interesting to know that prior to the concept of 'aliens' as we now understand the term, people throughout history have claimed that they have been abducted and sexually abused by witches, goblins, the devil, etc. This is simply the modern-day rendering of these types of delusions / fantasies.
All utter nonsense of course. The fact that so many abductees claim that they have been interfered with sexually says far more about the human condition than it does about the supposed aliens.

I've had a quick look, but I can't find any statistics, although one website says that 4 million Americans claim to have been abducted by aliens.
I believe that alien life exists, but I can't see why they would be making repeated visits to planet earth to conduct experiments on human beings. If they're that advanced, how many 'samples' would they need? As Birdie says, such claims say much about the human condition.

I find this subject fascinating as well, Naomi. IMO it is an updated phenomenon that surfaced in past centuries as interacting angels, demons and fairies - as humans we can only imagine things that our cultural experiences give us forms, shapes and words for. So once Orson Welles had terrified America with a Martian invasion, it was only a matter of time and media exposure before suggestible people start seeing aliens.
//I agree that visitations from alien life forms are a possibility but it's extremely unlikely. Given the distances involved and our relative obscurity in our own galaxy, the likelihood of having being visited by interstellar aliens is vanishingly small.//
I, for one, find your scepticism regarding the presence of LGM quite reassuring. birdie . . . yet a shadow of doubt remains.
