Is it not true, that The Qu"ran, the Torah and The Old Testament are
fundamentally the same book ?

So why the enmity between the religions, why does one claim superior
knowledge over another ?

Surely Jewish people have more right to feel aggrieved at this blatant
plagiarism?

As to Allah,Jah,God..et al..what"s in a name?
Surely, just a case of "lost in translation"!

Nothing in the name apart from few things. Torah, Bible do not exist in real form today. What we know today has been lost in translation and interpretations etc. But still there are hints in those books. You check how God was called upon in Bible. Check Mark 15:34 and
Mathew 27:46 and see if it sound more like Allah, God, Jah or whatever you
may want to call him.

Then there are other aspects. For God you can have plural as gods, and feminine as goddess whereas you can have anything like that when it comes to Allah and that also proves that God is only one and even the name used cannot be pluralised etc.

Finally it is not about name. It is what and how you believe about God.
As for the beginning of you question. As a Muslim it is compulsory to believe in Torah, Bible and all of the books revealed to prophets from Adam (pbuh) to Muhammad(pbuh) By name four books have been mentioned in Quran. Few people call Quran being plagiarised from previous books. Muslim do not agree with that but believe that there are common messages due to the common source. However previous books were for the people for the time being and therefore have been corrupted and even huge number of Christian and Jew scholars agree with that and that is the reason they have been revised so many times.
"So why the enmity between the religions, why does one claim superior
knowledge over another ? "

Because they can?
true
No, enmity can easily be taken care of. Again Quran tells us how. A verse in Quran tells us that call the believers of the books (Jews and Christians in this regard) to the common terms between you and them. But amazingly in the books of other well-known ploy theistic religion there is concept of ONE God but they do not act upon their own books.

Now what are those common terms? That there is only one God (no trinity etc). Now I can give you so many verses from Bible itself where it is said that God is only one. So Christians has to believe their own book to start with. Without going into details, what is the first commandment out of the ten?

As to enmity then I believe people should have dialogue and nothing more. But sometime that does not work. For example you type word “Islam” in google and majority of the website you would see would be “anti-Islamic”. And before anyone mentions terrorism then it has nothing to do with that. It has been going on for over centuries. Now Type “Christianity” and see how many Muslims would you find writing Anti-Christian stuff? Only ones you would find are refuting websites trying to clarify propaganda by Christian missionaries. Simplest thing to understand is that I am Muslim and I put (pbuh) Peace be upon him when I name Jesus or Moses. Even Christians themselves do not give that much respect to their prophets.
"type word “Islam” in google and majority of the website you would see would be “anti-Islamic”."

just tested and found that statement to be factually incorrect.
But the "book" has to be proved to be true beyond all doubt and no one has proved it yet, whatever "book" it is. Proof (as scientists tell us) has to be beyond all reasonable doubt and these "books" are not...unless you know otherwise.
keyplus try typing Roman Catholic Church and see what comes up.We all have our crosses to bear.Shalom
You would find them factually incorrect because on the face most of these websites are Islamic websites. But when you someone starts reading the stuff then you know how much have been manipulated. However if someone has no knowledge about Islam then he/she would believe these website be Islamic and will get wrong information. To start with I can give you list of few where even I have been fooled few times.

as you suggested. why would i want to go nay further ?
Think I'd rather convert to british gas.
Daisya – If I give you a list of scientists who agree with what they found in Quran then you would refuse to accept authority of those scientists. So divided opinion would always be there. As according to my knowledge there is not even a single verse in Quran which goes against proven scientific fact but then few people may never agree where I can give you clear scientific errors in Bible where no one has any explanation about. You may find a link on wiki about contradictions in Quran (scientific or otherwise) but any one with basic knowledge about Islam laughs about few things in that list.
Ankou - May be that is the reason you got Saif - Al _Islam in your list too. lol.
Kplus...authority is NOT proof. I can see electricity working, if I couldn't it would be hearsay or anecdote. I would want tangible proof, touch it, feel it, see it, hear it. Sorry...listening to scientists is not IMO proof.
Yu have answered your own question then. Can you see eletcricity? Can you see X rays?
might not be able to see it but we can physically measure it, thus demonstrating its existence.

can you suggest how we measure god ?
Can you physically measure electricity with your given senses?

If I give you two wires one plugged in and one not plugged in. Can you tell me which one has current in it?
"If I give you two wires one plugged in and one not plugged in. Can you tell me which one has current in it?"

yes

Can you physically measure god with your given senses?
