I've decided that; I shall ask for a gold watch for my birthday. Although probably not one that costs £100.

I only have a plastic one and having a nice gold one that I can wear when going out that will last for years is a good idea I thought.

So what kind of style should I go for?

Something classic that won't look naff in a couple of years.

Something quite dainty, I only have little wrists.

But what style and shape etc do you recommend?

This is a nice idea molly, but it's such a matter of personal taste. If I were you I would spend some time looking on-line or in catalogues - even Argos can give you some choices for starters - there are so many designs and weights. You could have a bangle watch, or one with a strap, or one with a pattern link chain - round face, over face - white face, - delicate, more chunky - the permutations are endless!
oi! a watch was on my suggestions list this afternoon molly! lol
yes a watch is a good idea, but really down to you which one x

At least I've narrowed it down slightly, to a gold one.

Also, are there any brands to look out for that tend to brake more than others?

There's lots from argos for under £100.
a 9ct one will still cost more than £100 molly.
why dont you go for a rolex ????
Latest Argos catalogue page 109 for excellent quality (5 year guarantee) and never need a battery! I have several Citizens and they are ace.
"break" molly.....

Most watches these days are quartz - battery-operated so you don't have to worry about winders breaking - there are many reputable brands and you should find that all of them come with a guarantee of some sorts. The cheaper watches are sometimes less reliable than well-known brands.

But what kind of thing is classic, that won't be naff soon.

I like this one, but ill the retro look make it look oldfashioned soon? http://www.argos.co.u...LADIES+GOLD+WATCH.htm

So glad you have made a choice, if you have tiny wrists like me (only 5 and a half inches) a neat art deco design is classsic and will last you well. Have a lovely birthday. ♥
