Once more the English Defence League's peaceful protest in Bolton has been highjacked by far left members of Unite Against Fascism, who have sent along some 2,000 members to cause mayhem.

So as not to cause trouble, already the EDL postponed their planned demonstration on March 6th because it would clash with a peace loving Hindu festival,

Statement from the EDL:

/// "We have received information that far-left groups were planning to attack Hindus whilst dressed in EDL clothing, which may be purchased freely from our internet shop. This cowardly attack, had it taken place, was to be blamed on our organisation with the intent of discrediting our stated aim of peacefully protesting against radical Islam. Due to the respect we have for the peace loving Hindu community, we deemed it only right and proper that we cancel our own plans to ensure their safety." ///

Both groups are allowed to protest in peace. Whether they will be peaceful is another matter. In fact I suspect both groups are hoping it won't be peaceful. The EDL march does appear provocative given that it's in an area with a high Asian Heritage population.
Perhaps the EDL should hold their protests in some nice, white, peaceful town in, say, Suffolk? I'm sure they'd be much happier in places without all those annoying immigrants, and the country they love would be spared violence.

have you moved from sweden to england news.
Its good to see that joint secretaries Weyman Bennett and Martin Smith of the ironically named Unite Against Fascism (UAF) have been arrested. The UAF are an organisation of far left thugs who routinely engage in violence and disorder which includes assaulting police officers. The general public and law enforcement agencies have had enough of these far left student drop-out criminals and thankfully, it wont be long before they are finished.

No matter where they held their protests, they would still have the trouble making UAF follow them.

/// Police have made 55 arrests. The UAF claims they include join secretary Weymann Bennett, who organised the protest, and Martin Smith, who runs the Love Music Hate Racism campaign.///

Why don't they stay home and listen to their music?

/// Why don't you condemn them, AOG, instead of sympathising with them? ///

I might well do, if I found out something they had done that deserved condemnation.

everyone is allowed free speech so long as the far left think it is ok, all other free speech should be banned.
Second World War veteran Bertie Lois, 89, who is protesting with the UAF, said: “I fought the Second World War against these Nazis. What did I fight for if we let them? The EDL are the enemy. I would say to them ’you are the guys we fought for, what are you doing?’"
BBC News now reporting 67 arrest, 55 of them are fascist thugs of the UAF.

Anything that irritates or spoils the plans of any far right organisation is simply good news.

If the EDL want to protest - good for them, but they should always expect an equal and opposite protest from the far left.

We need a balance.

This is the balance.

We'd be in a pretty grim state if the far left and far right were able to march without any opposing criticism.

The great thing about the rise of the BNP, UKIP and EDL is that it's galvanized the far left out of it's stupor.

Hoorah for the kids - jumping up and getting politically involved. Apathy is poison to democrasy.

Just inform me when has the Far Left ever been in a stupor? They have always been active and ready in their quest to destroy democracy. Was there any sign of democracy in Stalanist Russia?

"Apathy is poison to democracy", . That I do agree with.
AOG

Not true. The Far Left haven't really had anything to focus their attention on until recently - and the great thing about the Far Right parties/pressure groups is that they are almost exclusively populated by very, very poorly educated people.

It makes foxing them not only easy, but bloody funny.

Nothing better than watching a bigot furrowing his brow, desperately trying to grasp the complexities of immigration issues.
I agree with sp above most of the right wing seem poor. B****** Brown only likes to help those who have never worked in this country.
By the way, if you seriously think that the Far Left want too impose Marxist principles on Great Britain, I suggest you may want to update your choice of reading material.

Also, I may have mislead you. It's not just the Far Left who loathe the bigotsof the Far Right.

Pick up any national newspaper from the Mirror to the Mail and you'll see that practically EVERYONE thinks they're filth.
These disgusting criminals of the far left UAF have abused the law enforcement agencies and general public for far too long and they have got everything they deserved, yet now are they are blaming the police for causing riots and furthermore, making unfounded allegations that their homes have been searched illegally because they did not have warrants (useless idiots).

The media reports that the disgusting cretin Weyman Bennett has formally been charged with a serious public order offence. This is the beginning of the end for the UAF.
