Nottingham Police Brutality
A video taken on a mobile phone in Nottingham shows the local police making an arrest.
The footage apparently shows the man on the floor with the Taser wire already attached before being shocked.
He then seems to be pinned to the ground by three officers before the fourth officer 'Tasers' him again.
Another officer is then caught on film apparently punching him on or close to the head three times.
A crowd of 30 to 40 people quickly gathers and they start questioning the police's tactics.
A woman behind the camera is heard to say: "Look at his face, did you get that? He don't look like he is resisting."

As with the Ian Tomlinson case, this has only come to light because a member of the public was able to film it.
In this age of mobile technology, should be police wait until these people are in the van before beating them up?

He was arrested for assaulting a police officer and is now on bail, probably awaiting the �10 fine. Who can balme the police for getting their "licks" in.
They should make it an offence to film the police whilst carrying out their "duties", this stupid libralisism is ruining this country.

The saying "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" applies here as it can clearly be seen on the footage that he is still resisting arrest and is kicking out at the officers.
I presume that these tasers have different settings and it's possible that the power level had to be adjusted to stop him fighting. From what I saw the Police Officer isn't punching him on the face or head, but punching near his chest presumably to make him release his grip on something.
The people who were gathering in the background didn't seem to be caring one way or another and it was only the one lady who wandered over to find out what was happening.
The bottom line is that if you don't like the Police, then the next time your house gets burgled on a relative gets assaulted then phone your local drug dealer and see if he can sort it out for you.

I'm assuming that none of the respondents so far, and you Gromit, has ever been a Police Officer or has knowledge of what Police training involves.
Let me tell you quite categorically that the brief piece of footage did not show the man being beaten up but demonstrated the methods of training taught to Police Forces in England and Wales under Home Office guidance.
I hope people on here have also read the link which tells of the reasons why the Police were involved in the first place: i.e. that this character had just been slung out of a nightclub having had an altercation with a doorman, he had then assaulted a Police Officer who needed hospital treatment before being apprehended by other Officers.
Unfortunately, the footage didn't capture the initial exchanges between this man and Police Officers which would undoubtedly have shown why he was not dealt with in the manner of a little old lady shoplifter.
Also, there is no mention of any injuries sustained by this man and I'm positive that we would have heard of those had there been any.
Bear in mind, too, that had this man been some innocent victim of perceived Police Brutality we would undoubtedly have heard all about it by now and he would have without shadow of doubt been paraded on telly by the likes of Max Clifford. Why has that not happened? Perhaps because the man himself knows the complete truth of everything which happened that night, not just the final instalment.
It seems like the Police can't win no matter what: people whinge because they allegedly do nothing about yobs, then whinge when they do! We can't have it both ways, folks!
