My friend is having treatment for cancer, and due to the risk of infections duiring the next stage of treatment she is now in an isolation ward, and I am one of only 4 people allowed to visit, although wearing scrubs etc. Unfortunately she will have to celebrate her 23rd birthday there. Anything I take her (can't take anything edible) has to be wiped and sterilised. Can anyone think of a good present? Or any ways I can make her birthday more fun? It's a tricky one this, so your ideas are much appreciated!

Why don't you have a word with some of the nurses on the ward. They will have seen other peoples ideas and know what is allowed to be taken in. Best of luck to your friend xx
Hopefully a hand held game concole would be wipeable and could be sterilised but maybe you could ask secretly. If so that is by far the best choice to get, it will keep her busy and entertained. She can wear headphones if she needs to be quiet on the ward and it will take her mind of things. So much gaming can be packed into one little box. You could get her adventure games or girly games.

There are many hand helds you can get at different prices, maybe one that copes well with batteries might be the best as I cannot she her being able to charge the console via the mains in hospital.

There are even cheaper options in the form of stand alone one game per mini console, you can get them from toy shops, you can get these little digital games like suduko or battleships, etc.
