Despite successfully growing her business over three decades, hairdresser Kerry Larcher, says she now faces losing her life's work and her home.

Tax rises in October's Budget are "crippling" her salon business, she said, and the extra £23,000 a year imposed by the chancellor could prove the final nail in the coffin.

she's just one of many that will be going to the wall due to Rachel from accounts incompetance. The sad thing is she'll put thousands on the rock and roll negating any extra dosh she may rake in with her employment tax.

The government are clueless about businesses and the chancellor is just clueless.

The small to medium sized businesses are the backbone of this country and hurting them, along with "taxing the rich" (if there are any left in this country) is utterly shameful.

Oh yes, I prefer my rich untaxed, dishing out space tourism to vaccuous tarts and telling oppressed statesmen that they're just going to have to suck it up.

Douggie, the one or two ultra-rich who indulge in (what they call) space ourism are no he issiue here.

What is are the business people who provide the vast majority of employment, and hence tax revenues for the Exchequer to waste.

We had one AB member with breathtaking naivety state at the time he thought people were "making a fuss" about the ENI increase, even though it was obvious to anybody with even a modicum of common sense it would cause huge problems, but it is astonishing there are people like that poster who can't see beyond the end of their own nose.

I have a colleague who advises a manufacturer who was going to put in an additional production line into their factory at a cost of £2.5m which would have required them to employ about 40 People to run it. Their additional ENI costs for their existing staff are also £2.5m so they've decided not to do so.

Reeves is the worst chancellor ever.

Yet one person on this site thinks people were "making a fuss". Idiot.

It's such a shame that these small businesses are now paying the price for the massive great black hole the previous Govt ,,The Cons..Left behind.

"in the economy"

So misguided, Gulliver

God knows how killing off British businesses and putting people out of work is going to help filling in this"black hole",gulliver?

You're probably right, Gulliver.  It is all over.   I've just read the latest poll puts Reform 8 points ahead of Labour and the Conservatives.
