Brexit – Are You One Of The Deluded?

Sir Alan Sugar said Brexit is the biggest disaster in his whole lifetime; he also said that those people responsible for Brexit, based on lies should be in prison.

He went on to say that Brexit was a total absolute disaster and anyone who says it’s not is deluded.

The interviewer asked Alan what the thought it would take to get this country growing again – to which he replied; for the UK to get down on bended knees and beg to be allowed back in (to the EU).  At this the interviewer said they didn’t associate him with begging – to which Alan responded; exactly that’s how bad it is.

Quite how anyone could think that Brexit is a success, when a prominent businessman’s view is that it is a total absolute disaster, is beyond me.

I see Aldi have got a new batch of sour grapes in at last.

Hymie, you lost, suck it up buttercup.

And all remoners, stop thinking you know why people voted the way they did.  Clearly you dont know.

Despite my objections to Brexit; I do have some sympathy for Brexiteers, the UK electorate voted for this turd-show and got the turd-show (they voted for) – then why should our politicians now try to dig us out of this turd-show?

//And all remoners, stop thinking you know why people voted the way they did. Clearly you dont know.//

Why don't you tell us then. Was it to take back control of our borders. How's that going?

No that wasn't the reason given by  any Brexiteers I know, times.

Perhaps people voted for the promised sunlit uplands !

Or even the lies on the bus !

I voted to give us the ability to decide our own path.

Unfortunately our politicians were craven and lost their heads, having had a cushy time just implementing instructions from Brussels.

We still have the power to decide our own future and thisis important.  I njust hope that we somehow manage to get the politicians to 'Man-or-Woman-Up-To-The-Job'.

The EU gave Civil Servants aneasy time - they have to learn to get their noses to the grindstone again.

Thanks for your answer jourdain. Again, how's that whole deciding our own future etc working out. Are the civil servants earning their wages now?

“…then why should our politicians now try to dig us out of this turd-show?”

No reason at all and if they had any sense they wouldn’t even suggest trying.

There are all sorts of reasons why the UK is a mess and being outside the EU is not high on the list. In fact it’s not on the list at all. But that aside, I’d far rather live in a turd-show that is not an EU member than in a Royal Ballet that is one.

“Why don't you tell us then.”

I may have mentioned this once or twice before, but for me it was to end the UK’s membership of the EU. Plain and simple.

“ Was it to take back control of our borders. How's that going?”

Quite well, I think. Brexit removed from 450m people the unfettered right to live here whether they were invited to do so or not. All the government has to do now is to turn its attention to the 40,000 or so who arrive here uninvited each year having, usually, been ferried ashore by the RNLI and so-called Border Force. I’m not holding my breath with that but I take solace from two things:

1. Those arrivals would have occurred, Brexit or no Brexit. What would have helped both the UK and France would have been for France to have declined to join the ridiculous Schengen scheme and instead protected its own borders.

2. As bad as that is, it’s certainly better than leaving 450m people with the right to hop on Eurostar to St. Pancras and put themselves on the council housing list.

//for me it was to end the UK’s membership of the EU. Plain and simple. //

You've stated that many times but never given a reason.

..and then with a hilarious lack of self awareness followed it up with a plea for Scotland etc to remain part of the UK.

"You've stated that many times but never given a reason."

Because I don't believe that EU membrship is in the UK's best interests. Nor is it in he best interests of the remaining 27 members, but that doesn't concern me too much. I've explained why I have his belief many times over the past nine years. My desire for us to leave began in earnest in 1992 when that nice Mr Major signed the Maastricht Treaty on my behalf. It has strengthened ever since and I'll leave you to work out why. All I wanted was for the UK to leave and nothing much else mattered very much.

I would actually like to see the EU wound up but that's another issue which need not trouble us here. It is not going to happen because too many members and too many individuals are making too much money out of it.

".and then with a hilarious lack of self awareness followed it up with a plea for Scotland etc to remain part of the UK."

Perhaps you  could show me where I've said that.

I've no particular views abou Scottish independence but if asked to choose I would sooner they left the UK rather than remained to coninually whinge about how badly they are treated. I don't see much for England in their remaining in the UK but I wouldn't make too much fuss about it.

What I have criticised is devolution of all three minor nations. It has caused rancour and strife and has cost English taxpayers a lot of money for no particular purpose.other than to provide jobs for an addiional unnecessary layer of politicians.

But I would say that to comflate the United Kingdom and the European Union somewhat confuses the issue.

nice try for the 1000th time judge but to brainwashed 5Cers like hymie it does not compute. In fact anything but living on our knees with Lilly Von Schtupp as our overlord does not compute.

TTT good to have a constructive reply for a change.
