People like Skinner, Hestltine ,Ann Widdicombe all had their nicknames
The Beast of Bolsover
Tarzan
Doris Karloff
But they were feisty characters to watch whether we liked them or not
Now with Boris on the way out ( sad to see ) because he too is a character, it’ll be Dullsville with KS and Lord Snooty ( JRM)

always disliked Heseltine, found him pompous and overbearing, didn't care for the others much either.
Question Author
But they were fighters Emmie , and feisty with it, now we have nodding dogs who lift a paper and mutter and grunt
Angela Rayner is quite a character. I don't agree with her politics, but I admire her feistiness.
Question Author
Yes she’s not afraid to bang the drum Hoppy
she is a loud mouth with not much between the ears.
Question Author
It’s a bit like Tennis players in the 70s , people like Nastase , Connors and McEnroe , all characters to watch
Question Author
I don’t like her policies either Emmie but she’s not afraid to bang her own drum
when she called ALL Tories scum she needed a box round the ears.
You righties have a go at SKS for being dull, but he looks like Lionel Blair compared to the bland Truss and the cardboard cut-out Sunak, a pair of the most boring, unfunny, one dimensional, braindead zombies that the palace has to offer.
he isn't just dull he's comatose.
Question Author
Gromit,you think SK isn’t dull?
At least the two you mentioned are animated :0)))
You say Johnson was a character?

Certainly something beginning with ‘C’…..
Question Author
Yes he was and he’ll be missed in the House
he was a character, more chutzpah than most MP's.
I agree Bobbi (as I've said on here before, where are the giants of yesteryear?).

Bessie Braddock, Barbara Castle, Nye Bevan, Ernest Bevin, Jeremy Thorpe, even Ted Heath (The Grocer), etc etc. Where are their equivalents today ?
If Starmer is to make anything of himself he needs to be a lot more like Blair(when he was in opposition) and/or be as feisty as Kinnock was when clashing with Thatcher in her pomp.
He needs a personality implant.
all dead Canary, now we need some live ones to liven up parliament.
//Yes he was and he’ll be missed in the House//

Not sure I’ll miss the mumbling, bumbling and gurning tbh.
too late, SKS isn't the man for the job.
