TTT’s threads are fully understood by everyone. There’s a number of people on this site who pretend they don’t understand them. They fully understand them, they just think they’re clever by saying they don’t. They don’t fool anybody.

You're not helping members whose first language isn't English, Tora.

Nor the rest of us for that matter. :-)
R U confusing sex and gender me old china
It doesn't really matter because the term "gender" is now largely meaningless and, for most purposes, can be ignored.

bob: "R U confusing sex and gender me old china " - well there are 2 of each, so no. I am wondering why I now have a prefix when surely the norm does not need a prefix.
the company email system pre-provides a signature panel for everyone based on their log-in name, substantive post and contact details. from last week the panel also requires us to declare our preferred pronoun.

i've since switched off the signature panel feature and insert what's required manually....
Everything in France is male or female. Le for male. And la for female
"I am not a bloke any more, apparently I am a "Cis" Bloke"
Right, and my car is not a car any more, it's a "Black" Car.

Alas not. That is gender of noun, which in French is masculine or feminine, not male or female. Other languages, like German and Greek, also have a neuter gender.
Jim, in French 'vagina' is male. Go figure :)
There is actually nothing to figure. It's just the way the language works. Don't worry about it.
And, once again, in French 'vagina' is not male. It is masculine. It's not the same.
I'm not worried about it, I have a degree in French. I was merely making an interesting point, no need to be snarky.
Le beau vagin
Les beaux seins
Les beaux nichons
La grande bitte
La grande verge
Les grosses couilles

Etc

Tout cela ne change rien à propos de la signification des noms eux-mêmes.
