Bbc Quiz : Week 53

Yes, it’s ‘Week 53’! How time flies! (For pedants: I DO know that there are only 52 weeks in a year but there are 53 Fridays in this one, so I’m simply sticking with my usual numbering here).
There’s no Timed Teaser from Aunty Beeb this week but the main Quiz of the Week is back after its Christmas break. After getting the first three questions wrong I thought that I was going to end the year with a total disaster but everything went right for me from then on, giving me a total of FOUR out of seven:

The youngsters (and the young at heart) have an end of the year quiz this week, with twelve questions instead of the usual five. It’s really easy (as it should be, because it’s meant for kids!), so my score of just EIGHT out of twelve is actually somewhat embarrassing, in my own opinion:

Beating me really shouldn’t be too hard this week, I reckon ;-)
(For anyone who missed the four-part grown-up’s quiz last week, due to wrapping last minute Christmas presents and stuffing yourselves with mince pies no doubt, the thread is still available here: https:/
My thanks go to the 30-odd people (or should that be 'the 30 odd people'?) who join in these threads each week and a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to each and every one of you!

Well done with those very good scores, Calmck! (However easy the kids' one might look, it's never easy to score maximum points - and even harder, of course, when there are 12 questions instead of 5! So well done, again!)
