i hope you are all well and in good spirits, and that the day is a good one for you.

It's still quite dark and its raining so not sure what the day has in store, i don't think i will be going far, as am in a lot of pain, from my right foot with referred pain in the right knee.

i have some painkillers and will take those, but going on previous occasions, haven't found them very effective. I know i have osteo arthritis, and confirmed as such by doc yesterday after examination. Advice is put my feet up as much as possible, which isn't totally feasible.

what do you take for pain like this ?

Good morning Emmie,
Glad the doctor confirmed for you what the issue is, did he not give you a pain management system?
My mother had a whole raft of medication mind that was over 20 years ago.
I am off today as I have excess leave that I need to use before September and I have already booked loads of time off in August/September!
So off up to the auction house with more stuff, got loads of stuff on eBay as well.
Need to go to the garden centre and get some gardening supplies too then off to the vets this afternoon for the hounds vaccinations and yearly check up.

washing on the go, which should be done in about half an hour, coffee on and good to go. no one awake yet, can't say as i blame you, sleep in if you can, it looks set to be a miserable day weather wise in London, i pity my friends who are on holiday in Wales if its been like this for them. I so wish for the sun to come back....

yes he suggested paracetamol which i have, at a pinch ibuprofen, which upsets my stomach somewhat. I have some voltarol will see if that helps.
How about over the counter cocodamol?
If you took gaviscon before taking ibuprofen?
Question Author
i have tried a cocktail of meds in the past, co codamol doesn't help - he did suggest could prescribe me some, but that i couldn't take them for too long...
Question Author
i have some omeprazole for stomach lining, will take that and then the ibuprofen and see if that helps.
Yes that will help.
See how you get on and go back if it doesn’t help.
Question Author
i will do that RH if no better in say a week.
Question Author
sounds like you are mega busy, are you in the process of selling up? and buying somewhere else.
We currently rent, they are knocking the house down in the next year or so , so we are going to downsize from a 5 bedroom 4 reception room.
So we need to get rid of a load of stuff.
We haven’t decided if we are buying or renting again either way there is not a lot about at the moment and with husband being so ill we can’t think that far ahead unless the perfect place comes up.
Question Author
sorry to hear about your husband, i wish him a speedy recovery.
I rent from the local authority, but would love to have bought this property which i keep being told is worth a mint. its been my home for over 40 years now and i can't imagine living anywhere else.
We have lived here 11 years and love the house, but it’s not well maintained, the landlords have barely done anything in 11 years and it’s so annoying.
1 landlord and her husband sought planning permission and the other sister doesn’t want it so we are caught in the middle.
As I said unless the perfect property comes along we don’t have to rush but we do need to prepare as my husband is an avid collector and that’s what we are currently selling off along with a load of other stuff.
We will get there it will just take time.
Question Author
it does take time i know, heavens only knows how i could downsize my flat... i have it crammed with furniture, clothes, shoes, but i love my home and wouldn't swap it for the world. Unless i won the lottery then maybe...........
Ok gotta go and get on so have a good day emmie.
Question Author
have a good day RH,
Morning - a dreadful night's sleep - didn't really drop off until gone 3.30, the reason we have had a beaut of a storm come through - from nowhere it seems, the Met Office cranking up the wind warning to amber and every hour they seemed to be strengthening it. Near hurricane force on the coast and certainly it was whipping around the house here, the windows rattling like crazy. It's still gusting nearly 50 as I sit here.....

morning Dtc
Question Author
sounds horrible, we had that last sunday, hope perhaps you can get some rest later on.
A named storm as well, around late afternoon yesterday - 'Evert' - no idea which way it is heading....
