Global Insanity.

God has been kicked out of the public arena, together with the self discipline normally associated with religions of whatever denomination.
In place we have seen the arrival of a collective madness, akin to a religion, that involves climate fear, the conditioning of the masses to do the bidding of the global elite, giving up freedoms, adapting the woke agenda, a resurgence of leftism, and a readiness to condemn anybody not belonging to our own narrow faction.
In short, we are descending further and further into a global insanity.
At least, that's what I think.
Is there a way back to normality?

I'm not sure that the world is getting worse - more a case that information about its bad bits are far more quickly and easily available - bad news has always travelled fastest.
The fact that human nature likes bad news more than good news, and the instant access to bad news with images is a feature of modern life that was not present even twenty-five years ago.
I appreciate that you as a Christian will see the aparent increasing irrelevence of organised religion as a major factor in this perceived downward trend - but in fact, that really only applies to Christianity, which is on the wain. Islam on the other hand is growing at a serious rate - some may say that is in turn a bad thing, but that is a subject for another debate.
As for 'climate fear; and 'wokism' - these are the obsessions of a small but inverseley proportionately vocal minority who have staked their claim to the world's media outlets, giving the impression that they are far more important, and listened to, than they actually are.
I have always believed in the inherent goodness of humanity, and its tolerences for nonsenses like climate change and wokism should not be confused with blind acceptance.
In the way that a bolshy teenager can be allowed to whine on for a short time, these minorites will eventually be told to shut up for the greater peace of the greater minority.
Let's not forget, liberating slaves, giving women the vote, Little Richard, The Rolling Stones and The Sex Pistols were all supposed to be the end of civilsiation as we know it ... and yet here we are.

That isn’t entirely true. The only reason numbers are increasing within Islam is because the birth rate is higher than that within Christianity. It is not due to conversions. That said, since the penalty for apostasy in many Muslim societies is death, it's no surprise that many of those abandoning the religion keep it to themselves. C
onversely, whilst numbers within the Anglican church are declining, evangelical Christianity is gaining adherents worldwide, particularly in Africa. It’s estimated that about 18% of Europeans claim no religion - the rest are predominantly Christians belonging to a variety of sects, the largest Catholicism. Christianity is still the world’s largest religion and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future.
Speaking of the media I have no doubt that what was once deemed unsuitable to a respectable moral code has now become acceptable. The ‘right on’ who promote the junk we’re now exposed to are creating a tangled web of contradiction and because of that often appear to be meeting themselves coming back.

A thesis far more defensiblle is that the sixties corresponded to the Georgian era and we are in the mid victorian era ( morally finger pointing etc ) - 1820 and 1850 for those of you whose Hx is rusty

Andy, inherent goodness? I disagree. We are must the opposite, and constraints like religion, like morning school assembly, like strong family influences and community attitudes, also play a huge part.

I know AB is often decades behind real life... but, what does "wokeism" mean to you, theland? It's easy to throw out silly words that you learnt online from teenagers, but doesn't actually say anything.
