...for those who believe there is any?

If 'God' sought communication with his 'creation', why a book? Why does this book require countless revision, reinterpretation, and translation? Why wouldn't you expect more from an alleged 'creator of the universe', a direct means of communication for those who seek to do so?
Anticipating (based on undeviating past experience) what will follow in this thread, God's apparent need for a middle man to facilitate, translate, interpret and explain His communications leaves much to be desired. But never mind all that, splain away.

It's only a story book.
As a history of early Jewish existence, the Old Testament is interesting. The New Testament I consider as fabricated propaganda.
Hi MIBs.
Nice to see a thread from you.
You've lit the fuse now, fireworks later :-)

Theland, I'll try and remember to maintain a safe distance although I have considered a roman candle for dispensing my ashes.
Ah yes! After some sleep, I small try to return, wearing a mask and two metres from the keypad.
(I will probably also wear a tin hat!)
In this age of technology perhaps he should consider a regular television spot. I hear the BBC pays well.

Some splanin’ from the horses very own mouth. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?
What makes you think the book is flawless ? It's pieced together from what the authors believe is divine inspiration; but there's no litmus test for that. You can only read the claims and decide for yourself what to reject and what seems right. Given that a deity exists, I'm sure any really important message would get through. The general knowledge stuff doesn't matter so much, it's for interest only. And probably not 100% correct but misinterpreted.
//Given that a deity exists//

Does it?
It does for the sake of the discussion. Otherwise the thread has no point.

Given that a God with the capacity to create a universe exists, and choose to represent Himself in a book, He doesn't appear to have taken the trouble to paint Himself in a very good light.
Fair enough.
Mibs, perhaps his biographers were otherwise inspired.
If you knew your Bible you would see from Moses and all other Prophets all wrote in agreement with one another, but the Bible did tell of this man of lawlessness at 2 Thessalonians 2:3. Inspired by God’s spirit, the apostle Paul wrote: “Let no one seduce you in any manner, because [Jehovah’s day of destruction of this wicked system] will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed.” Got it!

Then Paul prophesied that apostasy would develop and a man of lawlessness would appear before this system’s end. In fact, Paul stated in verse 7: “The mystery of this lawlessness is already at work.” With false religion and Atheism and everything else against God.

Not for the first time, your incomprehensible cutting does you know favours in advancing your argument.
Say what you like you're the loser not me.
//If you knew your Bible//
Heard that phrase numerous times on here.
The irony is that atheists are often more informed about the bible than the religious.

The resident evangelical openly admits that he hasnt read it all.
The JW,s only copy and paste Watchtower publications and others only go along with their churches teachings.

Those that 'know' their Bible' are generally atheists and are disgusted by its contents and the demonic God that it depicts.

Along with the veiled threats....
Who is the resident evangelical?
(I have my suspicions!)
//Who is the resident evangelical?//
And the question of the year award goes to.....
