And have you forgiven them?

Feeling a bit maudlin tonight and was thinking about the time when i was about 10 at Primary school. We didnt have to wear a uniform until we went to Secondary school.

My Mother went to a Jumble Sale and bought me a dress, when she showed if to me i told her that was the uniform dress of our local Senior School, she said "i dont care about that, ive paid for it now you can still wear it".

Well not only did she make me wear it but she made me wear it to school!

So i was in Primary school wearing the Senior school uniform.

I got the mickey taken out of me all day, so i was glad when she came to collect me my teacher told her to avoid any confusion it might be best if i didnt wear it again.

I still haven't forgiven her.

LOL, that's bad that is Darcey.
Could have been worse. You might have been a boy.
Besides that was she a good mother?

My parents haven't done anything I haven't forgiven them for.
Just remembered this, as a young kid my mom letting my grandad cut my hair with a pair of these things. Painful, seemed to pull my hair out instead of cutting it, I made sure it was the barbers after that.

Oh we bad our ups and downs, and I resented the discipline at the time, but they taught me values and I look back on them with love and appreciation for their wisdom.

Oooh, Tony, they look evil.

Ummm, no not really bad but did a few strange things like that, its her way or the highway, shes still like that.
I have to admit I'm still a bit sulky about the sudden disappearance of my small Lloyd Loom basket chair, sniff.
Question Author
Ha ha, Mamy, i think i could forgive her that
I loved that chair though
Oh yes, I also resented ( as a small boy ) being stood in the kitchen sink stark naked having my legs rubbed raw with Ajax or Vim removing tar after playing with the tar after the road had been re-layed.
Been there Tony.
Question Author
Ha ha! Wonder why they dont to Vim anymore? I remember Mum using that but thankfully not on me.
Yes Tony. Me too :-)
Was terrible stuff, Darcey.
Pretty unscathed childhood, 2 disappearances, one of my dolls house and the other of my 2 guinea pigs (who had piglets whilst I was away on a Brownie trip - still don't know if it was Bess or Tess who was the mother) and a fib.
Me : aged about 7, on the yearly drive from Glasgow to London
'Why don't they build straight roads like they did in Roman times?'
Mother : It's to make the journey more interesting.
''Wait until your father gets home!''
(Bowels turn to liquid!)
Got the T-shirt tony, with you 100%
I think Ajax and Vim went out of fashion with the advent of Flash.
''Wait until your father gets home!''

Yep, had that one used on me many times.

LOL, that Vim was good stuff wasn't it, Sam.
Vim, name from the past!
Wasn't that the blue tub with the lid full of holes and it came out like talcum powder on steroids?
