Whether you fall into the group classified as ‘at risk’, or are over 70 and advised to remain at home, or younger and fit but requested to abandon your social life, will you comply - and if not why not?

Me? I think we are duty bound.

Of course we will comply, as you rightly say Naomi we feel we are ALL duty bound to do so. Chillidoubt must feel like banging his head against the wall with some of the responses here. It’s not much to ask to put your social life on hold for a few months is it? Better that than catch this virus or continue the spread of it. I despair at times...

Yes absolutely - we're duty bound to. We're nearly 66 and 68 respectively and both feel very much in the "at risk" category. I think it's very inconsiderate and foolish of some people to play fast and loose with their own and other people's lives. Could not believe my eyes when I saw pictures a day or so ago, in the press, of loads of young people enjoying themselves at clubs and bars, etc. We have cancelled all our holidays between now and September, and all our weekly social activities have been cancelled (both by ourselves and by the organisers of the other events) , it's not much to ask to keep safe, is it? I suspect that we will end up having to cancel those two trips in the autumn & winter, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. We've taken a hit on some of our holiday deposits, but it's a small price to pay. Hubby is still working, but he can work at home easily and I'm retired, so not much of a change for me really, other than a lot less going out.
I think if you’re bandying about labels (chinese virus, French letters, English disease, etc), don’t forget that the Chinese seem to have CRACKED it, at least in Wuhan.

So maybe we should start talking about the Chinese Solution... (and LEARNING from them).
I don’t believe any info that comes out of China
Neither do I Zacs, but watch what you say, I think there's an oh-so PC mod about.
So, a ‘PC mod’ is one who censors your right-wing rants.

And a ‘well-informed mod’ is one who agrees with them?
If the EDs did not agree with the posts being removed, would they not have been reinstated?
Sat here watching the news

People climbing Snowdon in ant-like numbers.
Beaches crowded (a bit cold still innit?)
Parks overflowing
People playing full-scale football games (22 players)

But don't worry, everything is going to be alright cos the pubs are shut
Roy , and this aint Brits Abroad , It's Brits at Home , strip the supermarket shelves and ignore all laws and warnings.Pull the ladder up union jacks.
Yes but I must walk the dog
fruitsalad, your excused when walking the Dog , where would we be without them .
When we took our dog for a walk today, everyone was very careful to give each other a very wide berth, most crossing the road to avoid getting too close.
The other very noticeable thing was how everyone smiled and said a cheerful hello.
