So here's the thing, i've seen all these controversy about the government wanting to Ban Abortion and People who disagree with it, but some people are saying that abortion is a cruel thing to do because it's killing a human being before they even born because of your own mistake, but than people ask what if they got raped? So the solution is either telling people not to be a rapist which is a good idea but wasn't really effective, or women can protect themselves by wearing an outfit that doesn't make them look attractive like the ones Muslim women use to wear, you don't see a lot of Muslim women got raped right?, But then again people started protesting about how men shouldn't be allowed to tell women what to wear it's like they've been given a solution but then they denied it and start making another problem with it, i just don't understand, do you have a better solution? Yes how about instead of putting all the solutions on women being proactive in prevention all baby boys should be fed bromine tea from birth.
Rape is about control, not attraction. How would you know how many Muslim women have been raped?
muslims dont have a problemm with abortion
Delhi - women dont go out without a house servant
presumably the house servants - - - well they may go out with their husbands

out as in out of the house - or I suppose the memsahibs house ....
why should a woman have to suffer for the action of a man?
'
Don't want it, don't need it, get rid, job done.
No matter what you say somebody has already thought up an answer so what’s the point .Eh . The question is bigger than us all so how can we answer it .
No easy answers, but worthwhile remembering the foetus has a potential for a full life, did not ask to be conceived, and has its own unique DNA but is so vulnerable that it cannot prevent its life being terminated.
//Don't want it, don't need it, get rid, job done.//
Would you say that once it actually emerged from its mothers vagina as a living, breathing being?

At what stage in pregnancy do we discard a foetus?

Ive got mixed feelings re abortions. In cases of incest/rape the mother MUST come first...I think thats a given...but in all other cases how can the dismemberment (of late term pregnancies) be seen as anything other than terminating human life....in other words murder!

Ive had 2 girlfriends who have both had abortions (not my own child). And both admitted that the reason was that it was 'inconvenient' at the time.
*Inconvenient* ?????
Its a life for Gods sakes.

Arnt women supposed to be the protector of life, not the destroyer of life?...Now its all about aborting life and their rights to do so.

Nailit (everyone actually) Personally I find the thought of abortion terribly sad and I am sure that most women who have by choice abortions (abortions, not morning after pill or early removal of a clump of cells) feel some degree of sorrow at the loss. BUT I remain clear on this one. When men bear the babies they can make the choices. If a man doesn't want a woman to abort a child of his, all he has to do is keep it in his pants or at least be responsible for the contraception. Its like men having a view on the ease of menopause and how women should cope with it......when you have or will have experienced it, you are entitled to an opinion.
//do you have a better solution? .... i just don't understand//

A better solution to what? To a society that condemns women to a life of subservience, a chattel, a baby factory, hidden from society, forbidden to look, forbidden to speak, forbidden almost to exist? Yes, I have a better solution. Teach the society that treats women in such a way that women are not possessions - they are human beings - and they don’t exist to do man’s bidding.

I trust that goes some way to enhancing your understanding.

//If a man doesn't want a woman to abort a child of his, all he has to do is keep it in his pants.//
And all you have to do is keep your legs shut. Not rocket science.
On the subject of abortion I agree with Woofgang at 23:37.
but Nailit its you who are saying that women shouldn't have abortions....
//but Nailit its you who are saying that women shouldn't have abortions.//

Please show me where I have said that!
If you want to carry on using abortion as a contraceptive then please carry on...I hate such an attitude
//In cases of incest/rape the mother MUST come first...I think thats a given//

No it must not. And it's certainly not a "given" to me. Assuming, of course, that at some stage of pregnancy the "thing" being incubated by the "life-support machine" (as one poster delightfully described a pregnant woman on a different thread) has become a real human being rather than a cluster of cells.
Somebody has to stand up for the rights of the unborn.
//If a man doesn't want a woman to abort a child of his, all he has to do is keep it in his pants//
So a woman has a right to kill his child (after she has consented to sex) ?
Abortion is not a contraceptive.

No doubt men will only feel happy about preventing pregnancies if a woman takes the pill and has an IUD and uses a diaphragm and also has had the 3-month jag, all at the same time. Each has been known to fail.

If all women of child-bearing age didn't have sex then there'd be no abortions. Problem solved.

Oh, that would mean the world would then only be populated by men. Goody (ugh- dreadful thought)
If only pregnancy lasted as long (or as shortly) as the physical effort of both participants....
