The Bible expresses an inescapable truth when it says: “The one walking with the wise will become wise, but the one who has dealings with the stupid will fare badly.” (Proverbs 13:20) This proverb speaks about more than casual contact. The expression “walking with” suggests ongoing association. Commenting on this verse, Indeed, because we attach ourselves emotionally to those we love, they can have a molding effect on us—for good or for bad.

“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show out of his fine conduct his works with a mildness that belongs to wisdom.”—JAS. 3:13.
The wise among us take no heed of that written in a book but prefer instead real life

Have you not observed the world and life as it is now lived by the majority. You see frustration, injustice and futility. Many hardworking people are, in effect, on a “treadmill,” and today no one knows what will happen next. not even government the rich ones, can do nothing to stave off old age and death. King Solomon observed this, and he said:
“I hated life, because the work that has been done under the sun was calamitous from my standpoint, for everything was vanity and a striving after wind. And I, even I, hated all my hard work at which I was working hard under the sun, that I would leave behind for the man who would come to be after me. And who is there knowing whether he will prove to be wise or foolish? Yet he will take control over all my hard work at which I worked hard and at which I showed wisdom under the sun. This too is vanity.”—Eccl. 2:17-19.

Solomon did not hate life itself, but life as it is lived under the present world.
I would like to say 'Here endeth the lesson' - but experience of Goodlife's agenda tells me that wouldn't be true. :o/
Define "wise".
It seems to me that Goodlife's definition of "wise" would be likely to include only those people who believe what is written in the bible.
By Goodlife's definition, people who do not believe the bible would not have wisdom.
Therefore, the argument is flawed from the outset.
but Solomon was wise and walked with wise people but it sounds to me like he didn't get a lot out of it?
Religious belief has a lot to answer for IMO...I have no doubt that those men who voted to ban all abortions except those where the mothers life might be at risk and ensuring those that have been impregnated by rape and incest will have to endure a pregnancy would also claim to have a fairly solid christian belief...as isthe judge who let a preacher off who had been raping his daughter for a long time because he is a good christian. So much damage in this world in the name of religion...........perhaps they all have the same friends....!

ones that have a shut load of money. I know the track 'Can't buy me Love' but it'd be a nice weekend.
I want friends that WILL tell me if i develop B.O. but will NOT mention the stupid things i did when drunk the night before. And friends who will gladly shoot me if i start quoting from the bible.
