According to, "North West Tonight," on BBC 1 this evening, Manchester University Students Union have banned clapping, telling students to hand wave instead.
Because it might upset people with anxiety problems.
Can't argue with that!

No. The NW Tonight interview made it obvious that there had been some hyperbolic reporting over this issue.
Nothing has been banned.
