all it will do is identify the kids ripping off kitchen cutlery

its not even good for knives and they dont go bang bang

Why would you want to prevent there being less school shootings though?

It could actually make things worse as nearly every child would have something metallic (money, belt buckle etc) on them that would make a personal search essential. You then have a nice long line of children which would be sitting targets for a gunman.
