Theland Why are you yet again criticising Islam ? Christianity has had a long history of violence . Even today the pope amongst many other bishops defends the clergy from any criticism . Currently they are now in self denial about the sexual actions of OXFAM and other charities !

Surprise , surprise ? Could it be that the churches are highly represented in most of them.
Most charities do a great deal of good work but that doesn't alter the fact like all big organisations there are rotten minorities.
May I remind you of the millions of people who have been mutilated and killed in the name of their religion. Maybe you should spend a bit more time reading religious books rather than writing in Answer Bank . May I suggest you start with the Inquisition !! That makes god bedtime reading !

Sola scriptura. The pope and his ecumenical hordes are not Christian.

Think about it, Modeller. Alternatively, look around you.

I see. Catholics are not Christians. That's the sort of drivel I would expect to hear from the JWs.
Hey Jack. Study it and see I am right. Does the pope look like a follower of Jesus? Study him.

Most major charities are secular, Oxfam included. Why does Islam come in for criticism? Open your eyes and see the light.

Theland, you sound like an echo of Goodlife. Like him, you think the bloke who doesn’t subscribe to your particular club isn’t Christian. Without the Catholic church neither your brand of Christianity, nor Goodlife’s, would exist.
modeller; //Christianity has had a long history of violence .//

Rolls off the tongue easily doesn't it? but you must have been reading different history books than I have. We know that Islam - the so-called 'Religion of Peace'- has right up to the present day a continual history of unremitting violence, but Christianity??? You could cite the English civil war as some have, but modern historians describe it as a 'War against the autocracy of Charles I'.

Skipping lightly over the non-religious Wars of the Roses and Hundred Years' War, you have to go back 7 centuries to the last Crusades, which were bloody, and quintessentially Christianity-driven.

That my friend, was a different age and a long time ago.
Modeller , Oxfam is not a religious charity . I think you may be confusing it with Cafod . As far as I know Cafod is not embroiled in any scandal .
What about the witch trials Khandro, the last one within living memory actually?
kvalidir; Witches? - folklore and superstition. What has that got to do with Christianity? there are no witches in the gospels.
// What has that got to do with Christianity? there are no witches in the gospels//

Are you cherry picking which bits of the bible that suits you again Khandro?
