I've got a nice display case for my grandfather's medals, but what is the best way of pinning the medals to the soft lining?

I've tried ordinary safety pins, but it's not very satisfactory - is there some special pin on the market?

you can get velcro stick-on spots

Thanks, I'll have a look at all those ideas.

Velcro seems the answer. I have my grandfather's medal case, lined with oldish felt-covered cushioning, and tried just cutting up some double-sided sticky velcro, a little on the medal, a little on the felt, and it works well - stays in place, and (carefully) comes off, too.
