Hate it.

Why didn't I just paint over the vile wallpaper?

There will be a special place in Hell for idiots who use Copydex on wallpaper seams ...

I'm having a fag break - even though I don't smoke - I'll have a mince pie instead.

Painting over doesn't always work either, Dave. When we moved into our house we put three coats on one of the bedroom walls, and it still didn't cover it. We had to strip it all off.

Bits of it were obviously loose - so painting would have meant it would just fall off.

Other bits have been secured using some sort of industrial adhesive - but the wall underneath is cardboard, so scraping will make a horrid mess :(
but how satisfying is it when a big bit comes off?
^^ Ha ha!!
Then ditch the paint and let me find you some dark and blingy wallpaper....... :-)
hope you've kept your socks on ! ;0)
Dave that copydex stuff is what used to be sold for wallpaper repairs, borders and seams :(
Sidebar said "gness stripping", came to see this. Disappointed.
Not as disappointed as you could have been, Jim..... ;-)

My back is now saying "why didn't you get a man in you tight git ..."

But all the top layer is off and 20% of the backing has yielded to hot water ...

Overkill, mazie - despite my moaning it's only one wall & is yielding to warm water & spong & scarper
Spong and scarper?? Think you should stop now, Dave......x
:o) think it's time for you to stop!
there could be a market for spong and scarper....

We cursed and attacked the woodchip in the spare bedroom when we moved in.
Discovered someone had stuck an elastoplast over a hole, didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
'stuck an elastoplast over a hole'

Reminds me of an old flame.....
